Interesting video. There are some problems with his "simple explanation" as well. He makes several giant leaps as to mining, over harvesting of timber and roads, only helping the wolves and only hurting the ungulates.

Where I agree, fully is how the anti's and even the unknowing middle, seemingly assign "humanlike" qualities and emotions to predators. The wolves, mountain lions and others seem to elicit such a sympathetic response, we forget how the wolves and others decimate native populations of Elk, Deer, Moose etc.

Successful conservation through hunting is one of the most mis-understood paradigms in our society.

In Africa, 20 years from now, there will be much fewer and in some places, no predators, no antelopes, no Elephants...nothing. Conservation through hunting is a concept they either can't get of don't wish to accept.

Everyone I've talked to that has some tenure hunting Elk where wolves have been reintroduced has the same story, they're seeing less and less Elk every year and having less success filling tags.
