Trial is finally on Feb 24 in Kingman. The prosecutor is out for his ass I hear. Understand that McDonald is being represented by an unpaid firm (he apparently is screwing his counsel) at the order of the judge. This should be interesting.

The public can observe this in court if I'm not mistaken?

Very difficult to pay an attorney when you don't want to show any money in your pockets...may be trying to hide assets, or just a jackass? Can't see anyone trying very hard for free.

It's clear that he royally screwed many people over and I agree that he deserves whatever sentence he receives in return. It's my hope that he learns something positive from this and turns his life around for the better and in doing so becomes someone who contributes to other people's lives and also his own; It's never too late to stop being a dirt-bag.

I am surprised at the amount of people on this forum with no personal interest in this criminal case who remain so interested. So much interest to go out of their way to research the case or go as far to take a day out of their lives and sit through a boring courthouse hearing. I just don't get it. Go spend the day with your wife and kids.

I think it's safe to say that we all want fair justice, but I think the most important thing is for Tim to make things right by turning his life around. What he did is jacked up and his actions obviously show what's going on inside of him. I say pray for him rather than prey on him. Hopefully he gets out and turns his life around,.

Excatly. Show up a year ago and act like you know everything....

Only thing I think , is he is a douche bag and it's sad that the people were affected by him and his ways.

I agree that it's sad. Hopefully this is a wake up call that causes him to change so others will not be effected negatively by him in the future. There are a lot of people in the world who royally screwed up in life, who have turned over a new leaf and spend their time trying to encourage others to change. Hopefully he changes. If not, he'll get the ultimate punishment (misery). No one that steals from people is truly happy inside.

You're surprised people flock to drama? LOL, you don't know people very well then. LOL

Truly though, people are highly interested in this particular case for several personal reasons I'd take it.

First and foremost, the performance boating community is very small. So, when something like this happens, it's probably not unlikely that you know someone who got screwed.

Second, Tim was a pretty big deal around Havasu. Flashy, at all the parties, paid for his seat in a race boat, big baller, etc. A LOT of people knew Tim. I personally met him a few times while testing boats with Powerboat mag (came off a bit arrogant frankly). So, when you know someone or someone is pretty relevant in an industry you're involved in, you're gonna pay attention to something like this.

Third, this type of thing (scamming customers, robbing peter to pay paul, etc) happens every few years on a fairly decent size scale in the performance boating world (National Marine, Trick Marine, etc), so when people see this type of thing happen again, it's a way for them to learn the details and hopefully not become a victim of another scum bag in the future.

Fourth, as I said at the beginning. People just flock to drama. No one's gonna turn away from the train crash. Human nature to be looky-loos and most likely in the big picture, again, feel bad for their fellow boaters that got royally FUCKED by this scum bag and hope some sort of justice comes out of it.

rather see he pay me the 100K that he screwed me out of instead of turning his life around, but get the feeling that neither will happen. Going to have to settle for justice instead.

Tim still feels he has done nothing wrong and it’s just a big misunderstanding. He actually blames me personally for the house of cards falling and thinks all of his business actions were ok.. lol. He’s a sociopath, and I’ll tell ya anyone who doesn’t think ruby was 100% accountable as wellhas their head in the sand.

Obviously he's not going to admit guilt or remorse to anyone with a pending trail, but if he truly does feel that way deep down, that's pretty damn sad.

Hopefully he gets to spend a long time in an 8x10 thinking about what he did and chooses to turn his life around and make some sort of attempt to right his wrongs.

I've said what I had to say here and I didn't mean to upset anyone if I did.

in 2009 i got in legal trouble with transporting a boat that was an insurance job. I can't believe how many people did the same thing and they seemed to know more about my case then my attorney did. I fully agree with what you said above. Everyone is a computer commando.

Yeah but your situation was WAAAAAAAY different. You actually had good cause to be upset about people talking shit about your case. Because they really didn’t have a clue. Tim actually has multiple (ACTUAL) victims (not one guy claiming victim to avoid being arrested for insurance fraud 😉) and many victims have come forward stating how Tim fucked them. I have absolutely zero doubt Tim was pulling the shim sham and burning people. Very good friend nearly lost two boats were wrapped up in it. One was already “sold” and one was being moved to god k owns where when the owner caught wind and showed up to reclaim it.

In my old line of work I've literally seen dozens of Tims. Mainly in the car customizing/restoring business. They all cried the same mantra. It was always everyone else's fault. If the government would leave them alone they would have gotten the jobs done. The customers (who kept feeding them money) were impossible to work with. And wah wah wah.

Friend of mine dropped his 68 Chevelle at a shop that I told him he did not know enough about, I had never heard of them. That was 2 years ago, the job was promised in 3 months. they have managed to talk him into an almost full restore. This is a no option non numbers matching car that he will have double its value into. The owner of the shop has been stringing him along with crumbs and bullshit.
When I was doing cars in my parents shop no matter how much I needed the money I would never allow a customer (friend) to go that far.

In my industry the hardest thing for me to do is win a clients trust...because they have been fucked up the ass without lube more times than they can count.

The boating industry is very similar, trust is everything.

It's nice to see people who believe in the good in the common man.

The truth is society is full of sociopaths who run rampant once they learn that there are loopholes in the justice system that allow them to completely fleece anyone in range who buys in. The penalties and punishments are laughable compared to the suffering and mental stress they have laid upon their victims.

IMO they should be publicly drawn and quartered....via live feed nationally.

Fuck thieves.

I had to read that twice
‘Pray for him’???
Like actually ask a fictitious character to help this creature change his ways and go on with life while others struggle financially which can cause many other issues caused by his bad decisions and choices?

If there is a god I don’t think he will be in court helping this soul

I fixed it, typo. Geez. Ha

Sounds like my cousin.. Although I believe his is a 67 Chevelle. It was at a hot rod shop in Signal Hill, CA. spent a crazy about of money on it.. They kept sending him invoices with little work done. He finally picked his car up.

I once pulled a rolling chassis 1960 El Camino out of a shop. No running gear, no wiring, no interior, body and paint not touched. The customer had fed this guy $42,000 over three years. It did have a billet steering column in it though. When he asked about getting his money back, I told him that his restoration specialist lived in a piece of shit rented trailer in a field. His money was gone forever.

Don’t forget Ted Banta At Boaters Outlet in Upland.

I bought my boat from him in ‘10.

I got my title and to my knowledge he hadn’t started his douchbaggery till after that.

There’s laundry list. Those guys in Miami that were doing yachts and a show was done about them a few years ago too. Anywhere where there’s big money trading hands and a little bit of trust this shits gonna happen.

I have to call in on Sunday for Jury Duty in Kingman starting on Monday.
What could be my chance of getting on that Jury? 🤔

I hope ya do! I’d love to get daily updates on the trial. Pretty sure they wouldn’t let ya on it though if they found out you had prior knowledge of the case

yeah, lets not forget Ted,... yeah ted got behind the 8 ball as a lot off other did....but,... ted did sell off all of his personal items and right all the deals...

that to me is a great guy..... , t not to mention any names, but there is a multitude in the boat industry that just run and file BK and fuck everybody,... open right back up under a new llc….

teds a great guy, and he's as honest as a boat dealer gets..
