I was on our way home from The Springs when I blew a tire out on our Yukon maybe 10 miles away from the 10 on Rice Road. Good news is my cheap China 24" tire didn't blow apart just got huge gouge.

It was 118 out and that really sucked. Seemed like a lot of people got flats on the way home yesterday.

Had the wife pour bottles of water over me to keep me cool.

the worst part of a flat tire is using the CRAP tools on your car or truck.
If towing bring a tool bag with cordless impact gun & sockets and a decent bottle jack or a 4x4 to drive up on if you have a tandem axle trailer

good thing you got your tire swapped out

Good call I actually have no clue where the factory jack is on my 2003 Suburban, or that little rod that you use to wind down the tire.

Good thing is I always bring a floor jack when towing the boat.

I carry a floor jack, star wench and jack stand. I need to get a cordless impact..... anyone have one that they LOVE.
If you have any cordless tools now, I would just stick with that platform if they’re all the same. Personally I am a huge advocate of Milwaukee, but that’s just a personal preference. My 1/2” impact breaks the lug nots loose on my Super Duty without issue. I also have a 3/4” impact that will break loose 65mm bolt heads on our drill rigs at work.

I have the super duty 1/2" milwakee also. There's nothing short of oil or mining equipment that it won't break loose lol

I usean old dewalt 18volt with a 20v lithium adapter. Works like Shaft. But my12v milwaukee 1/4 drive will beak my trailer loose at 95 psi. But I depend on the dewalt. Had that platform for years

Ya on my own vehicle. Not bad after 25 years of driving.
Freaking lucky

I blew one on Rice road by the stop sign. On by Big River where there isn't a turnout, that sucked. One right across from the Napa tire shop in Parker whic was convenient.

One on.the 91 freeway just before the 15 freeway.

I know someone who had a front tread separation on a Class C MoHo.

It happened on the highway.

The flailing carcass wrapped around the suspension and ripped out a bunch of components…caused a shitload of damage.

Tires were ancient, of course.

I had a BFG let go on me about 4 miles east of Desert Center on the 10 about five years ago that was on the right front. The guard rail managed to slow me down a bit as I drove completely through it and stopped about 10’ short of going off into a wash. I literally thought my number had been called that night.

Had a tire go flat on our recent trip. I carry a bottle jack and battery powered impact driver. Made a bad situation tolerable. First major town, (Missoula, MT), I bought 5 new tires and had them mounted!

I bought a Kobalt 24v works great. 3ton floor jack in a carrying case and a bottle jack. and an extra spare for the trailer. Bought that after blowing two tires on the same side of the trailer one year.

Milwaukee has multiple M18 impact drivers - before I buy one does it matter which one and torque rating?

I have Mac impact stuff, because the batteries swap with DeWalt, and have that stuff. My buddy has the Milwaukee stuff...the 1/2 inch stuff seems to be a wash...but he has a 3/4 drive that is badass! Will rip 20 buds and nuts off a semi like nothing. May need to look into that one.
I'd suggest buying a cheap wheel/flip socket set. I load mine when I go on trips. Trailer lugs may be different than truck, may buy a car...easier than having a rack of sockets.

Personally I would get the Fuel line with the highest torque rating.

I got a flat 2 weeks ago on the jet ski trailer, 110 out, had a floor jack and cordless impact. Less than 5 minutes and back on the road. Gloves should be in your kit as well, hands not even dirty.

The most important item is an old rug, carpet, entry mat or a piece of cardboard. 😬 That asphalt, concrete, sand or dirt is blazing hot and will do a lot of damage to your skin.

I love my AAA card. 👍
Bingo but good luck if you are out in the outskirts

Like I said, I blew a trailer tire right at Big River approaching Earp. AAA said they dispatched a guy from Parker ans it would be 2 hours. Wtf? I could drive to Palm Springs and back in 2 hours.
