Sighting number three of this guy this week, he's one of the good ones but his evil cousins are out there waiting to get somebody.

Wear your boots and watch your step if you're playing in the desert!

Do you guys just kill any snake? I’ve always left them alone..especially the Gophers,Kings and Red Racers.

I kill all rattlesnakes I come across because they are a hazard to people and pets. The other "good" snakes get left alone or are relocated if they are in an area where they could get hurt or otherwise be a problem. They do help keep the rodent population down.

Being able to tell the different types is key. The last two posted by 185EZ and SoCalCrickett are good ones and don't need to be killed. I would have relocated the one SoCalCrickett posted. Looks like only a matter of time before it got run over in the parking lot.

Nope. We had a gopher snake hanging out on the patio on Sunday. I don’t even kill the rattle snakes anymore. There’s a local guy that comes and takes them away for free. He relocates them. If he isn’t available, then its dead.

Moved to NC a couple of months ago…our first baby Copperhead.

Not as bad as some of the rattle snakes we got at our river house.
