I am a fan of Eliminator as I love my 21. The new stuff they are doing is amazing, but I just can't help think that goofy tunnel tab mounted on the back is a band aid for a hull that is not balanced correctly. Especially on a hull with a centerpod.

Just my opinion of course. Great speed and beautiful boat.

The tab is up when you are running.. it’s only to help get you on plane / roll over quicker.

The big true tunnels running tabs are usually a band aid unless you are racing.

Pretty comical to me how many center pod boats need these tunnel tabs & vent tubes off the drives AND none of them will even remotely come close to hang with a true tunnel in rough water

Pretty sure they run aeration tubes on true tunnels as well?

If it is there just to help roll over, then I understand. But if it wont roll over with out it, or it has a crazy range of porpoise, then I stand by my first statement.

My 36 Spectre had a monster tab (true tunnel), and you could use it for various reasons, just had to be careful.

Take nganga's 36 Skater for example, as it has no tabs of any sort, and it does everything perfect (except fuel pumps =))

At this point, DCB, Eliminator, and MTI build the same boats. All great.

On the big true tunnels you can use the big tab to raise tunnel compression and increase top
Speed in smoother conditions.. you can also tame (or rather shift) some of the hop..

I have never seen a skater that didn’t have some hop at some speed.. it’s just kinda the nature of the beast with any air entrapment hull.

My Spectre would gain almost 2mph dropping the tab. Wouldn't help much getting on plane, but the big tunnels just come up, out of the water.

My Skater I used my tabs in the ocean, just to fly level. My 40, like most bigger tunnels, lift out of the water and on plane, they don't roll over like these do.

Ngangas 36 needs nothing, pretty crazy.

Since AJ changed my rotation. No hop. None. 65-80 nice and smooth

That’s cool if you don’t have any hop! Very rare.. you spinning in or out?
It was out. AJ changed it to in. It was driving straight through the props (38’s) right up on the rev limiters.

Out, it had the characteristic hop from 70-80. Also, out, you had to get up on the wheel and chase the boat around pretty good.

One test day, @Duramax
Was trimming and asked me why it why the boat was sliding all over and me chasing it, sawing on the wheel.

In, its super solid, no rev limiter problems and a much calmer boat, great manners, Doesn’t carry the nose as high, even for a relatively slow Skater. And no hop. I lost a few MPH, but it’s a better family ride. If I was worried about a few MPH, I’d not have gone with 700’s.
