I don't need four boats right now, but I couldn't pass this up. I posted it here about four years ago trying to find its value and listed it on CL a couple times but it never sold. Its down the street at out storage warehouse and we are going to dig it out next week and get it running. I know nothing about outboards, But Richard used to be Merc certified when these were around and said its a Mark 58 (probably) and should be great for a boat this size.

These pics are from the previous owner, I'll take more when we dig it out next week. It should be a fun little channel cruiser.

I also plan to come up with a better solution for securing the outboard.

What a nice runabout, hope it runs good. Growing up, I was around a lot of those old Mercs and they were a blast. Of course, I also liked messing with Pop's old Koenings also:).

Keep us posted.

My grandparents had a nearly identical boat, right down to the White Merc on the back. That POS left me stranded more than once, so Grandpa and one of my Uncles bought a little 40 hp Johnson and turned it into a great little run-a-bout... wish I still had it.

That boat looks very similar.
If I remember correctly it was a 1963 Strarcraft that my uncle had. We all learned to ski behind this boat and after his passing in 1998 his son refurbished it a few years later and still takes it to the lake on special occasions.

Original pic from about 1967 or 68.

This pic was after the refurbish about 2002 or so.

That boat was what I grew up with on the PARKER strip. LONG before the 30+ crap showed up. M

In today's market that thing has to be worth at least $25,000 :D
Its pinstriped and has extra props, $29,000.

I am interested in the value, I'm just going to get it running, clean it up and probably sell it. The only place I have to store it is where my truck sits in the garage and that's not gonna fly for very long.

I had one identical to it, that my B.i.L. dumped on the side of my house when he got divorced. Nowhere in as nice of a condition. Called in a favor and got the local tow guy to haul it away for nothing, after it had sit in the sun for 5 years.
