Want to sell the Mrs. commuter car and this thing was roached. I think she bought it from a dealer and it was part of a rental fleet or something. It's never been waxed, polished, all washing was thru the tunnel type it and lived outside next to the sprinklers all before we met and hasn't been treated much better since. Pretty much everything I used has been picked up along the way on clearance or blowout sale besides my fancy harbor freight polisher and pads.

My ghetto detailer steps
1. Drive it thru a touch less carwash caus it's 45° in Oregon
2. Used Surf City Garages Clayzilla pad with auto detailing spray as lube. BTW it's way faster than traditional clay and seemed to work well. Can't tell if it's better or worse than regular clay since I have little experience
3. Busted out the harbor freight DA that cost me like $48 with their correcting pad (their pads are awful) and compounded with Griot's Ultimate Compound from AutoZone
4. Used a medium pad and Meguirs cleaner wax from Walmart purchased probably 2.5 years ago
5. Meguirs Paint Protect bought on clearance for $2 at PepBoys last time I was in Ca. used a polished pad and simply wiped it off. This stuff seems to be discontinued I used it to make it easier to wash and somewhat seal the wax in. I will say this stuff works great on plastic and trim but don't know how it will hold up.

6. Also used the cleaner wax on the windows with awesome results for water spots and a polished glass look.
7. The headlights were barely visible and faded really bad like pure yellow and haze. I worked em with the same steps as the paint figuring they are pretty much garbage anyways if I screw em up.

Don't have any before pics but trust me this car was beat. These pics are after sitting in the rain and wind for 2 days and driving it to the store in rain and driving in the red lava rock gravel cinders they use for traction. Also no sun out in these pics but I like how it turned out. I'm tackling our white Denali next with some different products that definitely needs it and will post results. Took about 5-6 hours in the garage figuring things out as I go plus 6ish beers.

Oops think I clicked create gallery and for some reason the pics are posted multiple times and don't see where I can edit that

Haha yes I generally call it good after washing a car since all motivation is lost after that.
