I need to remove the cap off of one of the trim cylinders on my Johnson OB. It looks like a socket with 4 teeth that go into the four holes on the cap. Anyone know what its called and where I can find one? A spanner wrench does not seem to work as its in there pretty good.

Not sure if this is the reght one but it came up as the third hit on the following search with Mr. Google.

Simple tool, I made my own for the Mercury trim caps out of a piece of bar stock and two dowel pins.

That is one type, there is another one the dealer had that was a socket you used a ratchet with and it had 4 teeth. The spanner tool didn't work as the guy who put it in possibly cross threaded it as well got the o-ring bound up in the threads.....thanks though

I'm pretty certain I've bought an adjustable spanner wrench from Napa that would do the job. Good Luck!
