So I have been doing some upgrade and modification to the trailer to help with ease of use. I’ll post some of them here

@beerrun you have the same trailer so this might be helpful

First I did is a quick disconnect to the gas on the trailer for a bbq. This allows me not to carry a spare tank

Second I put in was a wifi/Bluetooth thermostat. I can control it via Bluetooth abs or wifi. In the summer I will be able to turn on ac before I head to the river lol

Third is simple, but a magnetic front bedroom door stop so the door stays open

I have more upgrades coming, but I will post those once installed

The propane adaptor was one of my first updates as well. Still carry an extra propane tank when we are at an RV park (the propane fire pit eats gas).

So glad I have a EFI generator - no carb BS. Need to install a shutoff for the gas pump (that gets gummed up if I don’t pump gas every 3/4 months).

Same on the tank. Use it when at a park. I leave it there so not packing it every trip

The other upgrade I did was wire a separate 12v fuse panel that goes to the front of the trailer. It controls the new awning lights, plus has a USB outlet that allows me to wrap the flagpole in lights when in the desert.

Micro air

Thanks, I'm on the waiting list for one that has its own cell service built in supposedly.

Ian, is the propane connection just an air tool connection or is it something special for propane?

How do you like the thermostat so far? I've looked at it before but never pulled the trigger. I just went to their site and they have a cyber Monday code for 15% off ($211 instead of $249).

Still on the fence but might give it a shot.

@Kbach i just got it so not too much time for it. But so far it’s been great. I’ve tried it everywhere and seems to be working and responsive. Both via Bluetooth and wifi.

One thing is the thermometer is 12v so even though you turned on cool doesn’t mean the ac actually came on (say no power, tripped breaker ect)

Only way to tell it’s on and working is the inside temp will go down which you can see unless your in your rig. Then you will know that way too

Another tech thingy but very useful

Mopeka propane gauge both wireless with remote and app

Sensors sit on bottom of tank and report back.

Another friend uses these and seems to be very accurate. Useful when cold and you don’t want the heater to shut off lol

I was also wondering how it works. Any idea if they have units that power 2 units with heat pumps also? Couldnt find much online about them.

@Ballsdeep
I ended up ordering one today. From what I can tell they support up to 4 zones. I did get a call about 45 mins after ordering and the guy said they are beta testing a new metal bezel and also wall plate and asked if he could send those along as well if I could give him feedback after installing.

I also had a question about my application and he was quick to answer and helpful. Fingers crossed it all works out...otherwise I blame @Bpracing1127 🤣

Time for another mod. I added under chassis storage. Being that this trailer isn’t a fifth wheel or motorhome I don’t have a ton of outside storage. These slide out and offer some storage for some items. @DLC helped me weld this up this morning.

@Bpracing1127 you got me interested here. Do you happen to know what the max cool temp setting is on this? The manual on their website doesn't say.

I leave my A/C set at 110 on my thermostat when I'm gone. I'm digging being able to drop the A/C down before I get there but want to make sure it will still let me crank it up to a high temp so its not running all the time.

90 but you wont need to leave it on if you have wifi access. You can turn off and on the thermostat via wifi as well set it on a schedule

Thanks for the info. I like keeping the A/C set at 110 to keep the interior of my rig from getting destroyed from the heat. 90 won't cut it for that program. Guess I'll just keep heading to the bar after I unload to wait for it to cool down. 🍻

I love the storage but would be afraid of ripping it off in the desert .

why not let it run for a few hours a day at 90 say 2:00 am to 6:00 am it will heat up and then when you come out turn it on and not worry about drunk driving lol

That could work.... then again I like the excuse of heading to the bar. Besides I make my wife drive the golf cart there lol.

Moving onto the inside again. I redid the couch tie downs and the false floor under it. I put D rings on instead of tiny little screws holding the strap to the wall. These were giving me trouble and now much more secure.
@beerrun these could give you trouble like they did for me.

I ran those storage boxes on my raptor Toyhauler for years with no issues. They normally mount aft of your tires. They don’t sit any lower than auto levelers. So the chances of ripping those off is fairly minimal. I’m considering adding those onto my Vortex Toyhauler for a place to store all my hoses and elec cables.

These are aft of the tires as well.

Also being close to the axle there is a smaller chance of it ripping off. They are the lowest thing hanging down on my trailer but like an inch. the dump tube is next

Where did you get the ladder hooks?

Love the under-frame storage - I wanted those, but I have zero room unless I install below the fresh or holding tanks.

Here's the pictures as requested. I originally wanted to mount the compressor in the propane compartment where the tank is, but I got scared with the don't mount nears flammable stuff warning. I need to get a longer piece of plate, but that's what I had laying around to mount the tank. I moved the propane tanks a few inches forward to make room for the 5 gallon air tank.

I used bulkhead fittings on both sides of my compartment to install quick connections for the airline. Mounted a switch and relay in the battery compartment.

Is there really a danger of explosion when mounting an air compressor adjacent to propane tanks? I had planned to do that with mine

I dunno, but the more I thought about the warning label, the more I talked myself out of mounting it there
