We'll be dragging the toy hauler from LCH to Williams, and recalling when we did this a couple years ago, the 40 about beat the rig to death. Anyone know if the've repaired the 40 recently? If not, any good alternate routes? I think I have heard that taking the 66 from Kingman to Seligman works, then back on the 40, adds 30 mins, but not sure of the condition of that road either.

Thanks for any info.

I haven't personally been on the 40 for a couple years, but two guys in the car club got damage going to the Williams car show, the guys that went to Seligman were ok. Damage was in the slow lane however.

Yep the 40 slow lane is horrible. 66 should be better just watch out for the tour busses with people taking picks in the middle of the road. There's a certain demographic that really loves the route 66 nostalgia. But none the less from seligman on it's better but not perfect. Safe travels and have a good trip!

The 66 out of Kingman to Seligman isn’t bad at all. Stop at Westside Lilo’s for lunch and when you leave stay on the 66 to and through Crookton. It’ll add another 5 minutes but is a nice and beautiful stretch, specially with all the rain we’ve had lately.

X2. Was there a few weeks ago with the MIL. She lived off Hyde Park about 30 miles west. I was shocked how many knew her in the restaurant. It was much better than our return and eating at Road Kill Cafe.

Chicken fried steak breakfast 😍 to go it’s three big styrofoam containers. Lunch don’t forget your Carrot cake.

Only way to go. Just got back to Havasu and went this way. About 20 miles further than the 40 but so much more enjoyable than fighting with trucks and pot holes. You only see a handful of cars and they did some recent repaving.
Westside lilos has some a great breakfast.
There was one way traffic on the 40 just past Crookton road.
Not sure how many take radar out there. I go 10 over. There was an unmarked sheriff in Peach Springs waiting for people in the 35 mph zone after coming off of 65 mph.
This was our view this morning

Ohhh, tons. lol
Was that the one with 2 trains in the back pushing and 3 in the middle and 4 in front?
We slowed down next to you to see how fast, about 55 mph

I waved and he blew the horn. maybe it was you
Love to be on a train

I don't know if they're wild horses but they sure are a far way from home
We saw 3 herds of horses this trip.
We also tried Road Kill Cafe this time in Seligman for breakfast instead of West side Lilos
I little better food and cleaner and it has a bar:)
