The Toy I find myself missing is The Kawasaki Tandem Sport jet ski. It wasn’t necessarily fast, but it was like having a scooter on the water. I owned one in the early 90’s. It was a fun river cruiser.

The Honda CT 70 and CT 90 were fun toys too!

I just looked up the Tandem sport. How much cocaine was flying around the product development executive offices at Kawi back in the day?

*SNIIIIFFFF* ALRIGHT, LET'S MAKE A VESPA, BUT THROW ON A JET FOR THE WATER:

*SNIIIIFFF* YOU GUYS KNOW HOW SIT DOWN JET SKIS AND STANDUP JET SKIS ARE AWESOME? WHAT IF WE COMBINED BOTH SO ITS UNCONFORTABLE TO SIT OR STAND WHILE RIDING?!

*SNIFFF* HOW ABOUT A FIBERGLASS BATHTUB, BUT WITH A MOTOR. AND GET THIS, YOU DRIVE WITH A JOYSTICK BETWEEN YOUR LEGS SO IT LOOKS LIKE YOURE JERKING OFF GOING DOWN THE RIVER

*SNIIIIIIIFFF* NOW HERE ME OUT.... REMEMBER THE TANDEM SPORT? LETS TURN THE SEATING TO SIDE BY SIDE AND ADD A STEERING WHEEL. BUT THAT'S NOT ALL, THE STEERING WHEEL MOVES SO YOU CAN DRIVE FROM EITHER SEAT!

I owned an Kawasaki SC also…… It was fun too. It was a golf cart on water. The movable steering wheel was a nice feature.

Every time I see an SC I wonder why you never see em motor swapped into a dorky little hot rod.....

We had a TS growing up. Wasn't fast, turned like shit but jumped really well off the Laughlin cruiser wakes

Built this from scratch with the help of the Filar twins. It was the last "Fat City" car they built in 2004. It was extremely fun to drive, with separate brake pedals for the front and rear, you could drift the hell out of it, rock crawl, or drive it fast in the desert. I drove this car down the Baja Pennisula in 2005 over a ten-day stretch and it remains the best offroad trip of my life. This car also was used to scout and prerun for KOH. The dual sport design inspired the concept of King of the Hammers(KOH) and I used it for midnight outlaw races that took place in the years before we established KOH as a real event. I sold the car after the first sanctioned KOH race and used the cash to help fund the KOH movie "First Crowned" My Attorney at the time bought the rig even when I told him it was worn out. I think he realized I needed cash to get KOH rolling. He completely rebuilt the car, raced it a couple of times in KOH, and sold it to someone in France. I have no idea where it is today.

I miss this Toy for a number of reasons. My kids learned to drive in it. My daughter used to drive the hell out of it and loved spinning donuts. It had such a big influence on developing KOH for me, that alone makes me wish I could just have it sitting in a garage to admire.

Those Super Chickens fetch good money these days. If anyone is selling one I have a friend that has been looking to buy 1 for his Daughter.

We had a customer who was a Orthopedic surgeon who had a scarab z car custom built for him. Flared fenders, giant perrelli p7 tires and trick wheels. Small block Chevy, rock crusher four speed and competition Datsun rear end. Painted a beautiful red and bumpers and emblems were black chromed. Full Scarab suspension and shocks designed for the small block conversation. We rebuilt his small block and added a few of our engine upgrades. Broke in the motor and took it on the freeway loop. Damm to this day I think this was the best handling and quickest small block car I ever driven. The customer picked up the car and drove to Boundrount school when it was at Sears Point!

That is rad, along with the story.

Did it ever get linked in the front or always stay leaf sprung? Were they deavers? I'm waffling on linking the front of my FJ40 but really dont want to because leafs are so simple and cheap. But, I'd really like to get some more travel out of the front and smooth things out in the rougher stuff

My dads 66 Impala, none of us kids wanted the car at the time. It was just sitting in the garage.
My SILs dad just handed down his 66 SS Impala to him. All freshened up with new paint, Cragar SS and an interior.

It was the family car he grew up in.. He's pretty stoked..

It's nice to see a young guy appreciate the classics

I must be too sentimental because I miss everything that I ever got rid of. Not just boats, cars or motorcycle's , I mean virtually everything. The second I sell something I regret it, even if I replaced it with something better. I think that I might be a hoarder at heart and the only thing that keeps me from heading down that rabbit hole is the ability to rationalize getting rid of something even though I still miss it.

I built mine with a long rod 13:1 355, worked Brodix X-11 heads, 750 demon carb, solid roller (can't remember the cam specs)...made about 530-540hp on the dyno IIRC...at 8000 RPMs. Tremec TKO600 gearbox, Quaife diff, 4.89:1 gears, 13" front brakes w/ 2 piston mustang calipers, rear discs from a bunch of different shit, Billet chromoly rear hubs, 300ZX turbo front hubs, mustang 10" rear wheels/9" front wheels with 325/295 R compound rubber. I shortened the strut housing and ran Tokico dampers with a threaded sleeve coilover deal and made my own top mounts/camber plates. It was insane. I could run Streets of Willow in 3rd without touching the clutch or the shifter steering it with the throttle. Way too much power. Way to much grip. I did 2 track days and sold it before I killed myself.

Engine was in the Scarab position...everything but the block, crank, and cam was aluminum. Weight distribution came at out 50.1/49.9 front to rear...2384lbs w/ 16 gallons of fuel. What a fucking amazing car. Fastest thing with 4 wheels I ever sat in....and I've had plenty of track day guys have me drive their supercars (I was an instructor).

Shoulda kept it.

I think after me it did get a three-link, but I don't think it worked well. I dug thru the Rancho Springs book and found the spring rate I wanted. It happened that these springs called "Pre Runner" springs from a Chevy half-ton had been developed for racing back in the day but had fallen from popularity. It was an off-the-shelf part number and if I recall they were cheap.

I liked the way this car rock crawled with the leaf front end as it was really stable and predictable. I gave up speed in the whoop obviously, but the geometry worked well with no bump steer or death wobble.

I could spin this rig around 180 degrees at about 45 mph without a care in the world.

It started life with an HD Chevy Dana 44 front end, but I broke it in half jumping it. I replaced it with an HP Ford Dana 60 that I converted to passenger drop and I gave up some desert performance because of unsprung weight. I had the most expensive polished turd Dana 44 that could be imagined with all sorts of CTM Jack goodies, but I still broke it in half. It was never as fast after I switch to the Dana 60.

This car also influenced the creation of JeepSpeed 3. But I never actually raced it in that class. It served Prerunner duties for my Jeepspeed Wrangler efforts. By the time Clive agreed to allow it a place to race, we were full speed ahead with KOH and Ultra4.

When this was built there was nothing like it. Today I would consider it mild.

of everything, I miss this beater the most. it was a 1984 MonArk with a 110 Johnson VRO on the back. I bought it for $1,000 when I was actually trying to walk away from it. I added the TTop, sewed the snap up covers for the cubbys myself, gave it a couple live wells, as well as puting epoxy on the bottom, and a nice fish finder too. I think I was all into the boat for maybe $3,000.

I could step on that beast with muddy shoes, drop and spill shit everywhere, and just hose it out at the end of the day. I caught some great fish from that deck. I got caught in a couple thunderstorms in her too.

I sold her for a nice hefty profit, but I regretted it almost immediately. Sadly the guy that bought her was a first time boater. within the first 3 months, he towed it through a low tree and ripped the ttop off and also ran it aground and partially pulled the engine off the transom. I hate to imagine where she is now.

At 19 I had a mildly rodded out '65 Ford Galaxie 500 similar to the pick below but candy apple red with a pearl metallic flake /w a white hardtop (really popped in the az sun) 352 bb /w MT street slicks and cherry bomb straight pipes, if i idled through a neighborhood at night I would set off half the car alarms on the street. Sold this for my first boat, a 70's Glastron, got completely taken on the deal. Damn rad cars were inexpensive back then (80s/90s) I really miss this.

Had both a stand up and X2. The X2 was a lot of fun, had no problems seated or standing and was faster than the 550 stand up.

You definitely had more motor than the Docs Z. I think the key is the motor placement. I drove a basically stock V8 Z conversation and the car felt very front heavy. I bet your Z was a rocket ship!

The two toys I wish I woulda kept the most, my 79 Bronco, and my 92 234 Edge. I also had a 20SS Hallett that I loved that deserves honorable mention.

My 88 Mustang GT with SSP engine upgrades
My 96 Camaro Z28 SS police interceptor

Both cars were purchased from my father. The 88 Mustang proved to be the wrong car for a HS student. After to many speed and drag racing tickets, my dad made me trade the car back to him for a 86 BMW 528e. The 96 was purchased from my dad when he relocated from AZ back to IL in 98.
