Power probe, test the lead from the truck, and then check the solenoid and see if it clicks. Had one on a Magic boat trailer a month ago...did all the tests, but still turned out the F'r wouldn't release.

Make sure the pin is in and check the wire to the solenoid. I had the wire come apart at the swivel tongue once.

Happens all the time, first check the connector plug into your tow vehicle. The center is the connection point for the break release. They get pulled out all the time.

In the meantime, tape a nickel to the plunger slot.

I carry one of these in the truck. It is a magnetic lockout.

I have to back my trailer up a hill to the garage.

I gave up messing with the constant solenoid problems and just put a piece of 2x4 between the hitch and the trailer when backing up. 🤷‍♂️

A quick test to see if the solenoid is being energized is to have someone put your vehicle in reverse while holding the brake. Take something metal/steel and touch the solenoid top, it will be magnetized if energized.

If it is then solenoid is bypassing and is probably bad. Go see Frank at Frank's Trailer Repair if in Havasu for parts or repair.

Good Luck
