What does everyone like for wheels…look like black wheels are very popular. What wheels did you put on your trailer?

I guess I am getting old. I prefer the shiny. I dont think anything looks better than a highly polished aluminum wheel.
Shiny nice. Shiny not always the perfect match depending on the complete package though.
I put black wheels on wifeys white car, 100x better looking than oem silver or shiny aluminum.

Glad I'm not alone on this. Shiny here too.

My sons Howard has these 17 inch fuel wheels. I’m old school as you can see on post 4, I have chrome on my boat lol. I guess it all depends on boat and trailer. If you have chrome or stainless steel fenders go chrome wheels. Painted fenders black wheels look better for that combo IMO. But Everyone has their own taste on looks.

Hate to be that “ know it all guy “ … but I learned this about trailer wheels … all wheels even cool car and truck wheels have a weight capacity for each wheel … serious …that means how much weight can one wheel carry … who’d of thought … when I changed my 6 trailer wheels out I had to distribute my boat weight and trailer … about 7500 lbs. over 6 wheels . So I had to divide 7500 lbs by 6 and got 1250 lbs per wheel … then add fuel and ice chests and all … it gonna probably be about 1500 per wheel … you will be blown away by how little many of these cool custom wheels can’t carry anywhere near that … so right away all my first choices were off the table. Yeah … I know … but it is important … especially you guys towing 300 miles . Just my 2 cents .

Looks awesome, what size tires did you use?
Thanks. Tires are 265/40/18 . They are 10 ply heavy hauler tires. Didn’t really need heavy hauler tires because not a heavy boat, but adrenaline put these on the wheels anyways .

I had chrome on my gray truck and decided to swap out to black after 12 years and the boat trailer paint and wheels (kinda ) match the truck - gray paint, black wheels

my jeep jk ( silver ) I have black wheels and I want chrome…. Go figure!!

so it all depends on the look you want

love the look what size wheels and offset
Thanks. Here’s what was on my receipt. Hope this helps . I did have to have 1/2 inch spacers for the wheels and longer bolt studs for the hubs for safety to clear the wheel bearing because the cap didn’t fit.

I like brushed aluminum. Seems to be a little less maintenance.

Just make sure the wheel is rated to carry the load and get a good trailer tire if you plan on towing it very far.

Popular? Ef that! Get wheels that look good to you! It's your rig. I honestly don't understand how people don't have any opinion on this and seek popularity. Weird.

I like the classic look of the American Racing Torq Thrust wheels. Polished, simple, clean and timeless. That's what I have for my Howard trailer. 15x8.

I'm choosing a different wheel for another trailer project though. I just like this particular wheel and think the finished product will look slick.

Just did these us mag 18x8. 9" Fenders are just sitting there I have a new wider set to put on. I really wanted to do Intro wheels but little too much $$ for the boat trailer.

Those look clean. I like the added touch of the blue lug nuts to match the billet accessories.

In the early 70s, this was the hot setup. I've always liked them, mostly because my Dad bought a 1970 240Z and the dealer installed these wheels on it prior to delivery. The car looked awesome.

It's a good story. Dad was in LA to close a deal with Jorgensen Steel to provide his commercial and industrial sheet metal business with galvanized and cold rolled precut length products for three years. He was reading the LA Times while eating breakfast at his hotel, and saw a Datsun dealer ad announcing the new 240Z.

When he returned to Albuquerque, he started calling Datsun dealers looking for one that had an allocation for the car. After no luck that covered ever widening circles including parts of Arizona, Colorado, and Texas, he found a dealer in little Safford, AZ with a yellow one on the lot.

He negotiated a deal for the car that included the addition of a dealer installed factory provided A/C system and the Ansen slotted wheels. The total including tax and fees was right around $2,500. This was the same time period when a new Ford Pinto was selling for $1,999, so buying this really cool little sports car with a 150 HP I6 for that price was a steal. The deal included delivery to Albuquerque.

Old school Texas guy here. I, like some others here, like the shiny look. Not to detract, but black wheels just don't pop for me. Looking to upgrade my OEM Extreme wheels sometime in the near future. Just hard to pull the trigger when I only goes 500 ft. to the water most of the time. My fave is the Ridler 650 Chrome, but I still like the old school Crager chrome mags also. Don't get much better than this, for me.

Black wheels have their look and so does chrome. Can’t loose either way. I might even still have 7 more of these black Kmc wheels to sell. They are 16”

Fenders are 12" wide x 93" long and 17" tall

Hope this helps
