Is that 9.8 mpg average from start of trip? Towing your rig? That's not bad if it is...what do you average not towing?

That's pretty much my towing average. I pretty much only use this truck to tow. I reset it about half way here and have averaged high 8s. And usually see high 12s not towing.

Saw you on the 15....I pulled up and honked at ya, then drove away thinking you would see my RD SUX sticker. Then I remembered I was hauling a fridge and it was blocking the sticker.....lol
Sorry if I freaked you out, my wife says I am an asshole for doing that [emoji51]

So Day 2 we went to the Grand Canyon. It was awesome and the kids had a great time. We took the Grand Canyon train and even got "robbed" by the train robbers.

Looks like you've got your trip timing "tuned". Shut it down everyday by 3, set up simple camp, couple of cold beverages-relax, kids will explore the camp/pool etc, and light the barbecue. Pretty damned good afternoon.

The only thing to do in Beaver UT is the "beaver" you bring with you! LMAO. the truck stop sells coors light and "I ❤️ Beaver" t shirts.

We collect magnets from everywhere we take our trailer.

For Father's Day my kids got me a giant novelty flask, we decided to get stickers and add them on every adventure.
IMG_9552.jpg

(Yes the flask is currently full of Jack Daniels) [emoji23] this is the first trip with the flask so we are starting to add to is.

I wanted to keep us at 6-7 hours a day of traveling.

In talking to seasoned RVers they said the magic number is 6-7 hours of traveling per day.

It's easy for me to get up early so I rustle the family up they get in the car and i drive, by the time they wake up for the day we are half way through our travel day. Setting up minimal camps on travel days makes it to where I'm from getting up to on the road in around 45 mins. [emoji106][emoji106] it's a good plan for us. I end up in bed early every night though. Once we get to Idaho Falls (we are there for 3 days) Yellowstone for 7. I will start my "vacation" and enjoy later nights. As it is now kids are out on the green belt playing football and I'm in bed.

Yup boys are getting to that age where it's time for us to start camping too. Weve been going back and fourth on options. If we get a trailer it will have to be something small. Or I could get a new truck and a bigger trailer or we could just get an older rv. Saving now and just kind of keeping our eyes and options open.

Spent many summers in KOA campgrounds from one coast to the other. Dad says while they weren't anything special, they all had a pool which kept us busy for a couple hours every afternoon after the drive.

Pretty awesome Bill. Your kids will remember this forever. My parents did the same for us when my brother and I were around that age. I remember that trip vividly.

So someone might have had way too many red bull vodkas last night and woke up with a stage 5 hangover this morning. While the rest of the family went what water rafting I stayed back with my grand daughter and we hung out. [emoji106]

We went to the Idaho Falls zoo.

Go visit Big Springs in Island Park on the way to Yellowstone and feed the fish. It's like 2 miles out of your way.

It's a pacific coachworks sand sport 300 fsg

We picked this because at the one my old lofted truck would t work with a 5th wheel. And this floor plan gave us a separate bedroom up front as well as a 12' garage with a door. It also has the bathroom in the middle which is nice.

Ha! I was thinking the people do, they seem a little relax for having a bear that close...

It was mayhem. The one thing they keep saying is do not run from a bear. I was very casually keeping myself and the family out of the bears way. As soon as people started panicking and running he took off running too. In talking to one of the rangers. He's about 1-2 years old. And hangs out around there a lot.

From Yellowstone all the way to St George in a day? Holy shit dude you need a beer like now. I stopped in Provo both ways and it still sucked.
