Bet Nancy wont pass it.

The White House on Sunday unveiled a $4.8 trillion budget proposal that would slash spending dramatically on foreign aid and social safety nets, while including $2 billion for a southern border wall and substantially boosting funding to NASA, the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Department of Homeland Security.

Fox News has confirmed the details of the budget, which The Wall Street Journal first reported. The package, set to be formally announced on Monday, as-is stood little chance of passage in the House of Representatives, which the Democrats have controlled. Still, it served as a signal of the president's priorities as Republicans have aimed to retake the chamber in the 2020 elections.

The plan aims to eliminate the federal deficit -- or the difference between spending and revenue that is slated to exceed $1 trillion this year -- by 2035. In all, the White House is seeking to cut $4.4 trillion in federal spending over the next 10 years, including reductions in spending on food stamps and federal disability benefits through more stringent work and eligibility requirements.

4.4 Trillion over ten years is 440 billion a year when deficits exceed 1 trillion a year.

Those spending cuts wouldn’t even bring deficits back down to the level under Obama’s last years.

He’s gonna need a lot more spending cuts than that to balance the budget let alone pay the national debt off entirely off as he promised.

44% is a start. Let’s see what happens over the next 5 years. 👍

Agreed. Let’s hope trump can simply bring deficits down to where they were prior to his election.

An exceedingly low expectation and inconsistent with his promises, but objectively the best we can hope for under this administration for our future.

True that, but it does at least cover the interest on the debt that Obama created. and then some

Throwing more money at the VA won’t fix it. I’m looking forward to seeing the details.

Of course, you’d love to continue to gut the military and allow your fellow globalists to impose their will.............no surprise there!!!

There isn’t a person alive who can fix this deficit and debt.
Anyone who actually tried would be assassinated by their opposition.
And of course, as always, you offer zero alternatives.

I don’t remember Obama or Bush making a pledge to pay off the entire national debt
That's because the democraps never try to do a damn thing that is right for the Country.

I say we call it Jan 1st 2021. The Federal reserve is disintegrated. It will work like Brexit. Anyone who bought our debt gets 1 option. Suck it or suck it.
The World can starve , protect themselves and be grateful The Good Ol' USA fed them while we could.

Telling graph. Much flatter debt growth in the 89s and 90s. At least then the House Rs in the House had a desire to do something about rising debt and its costs. Last 20 years House Rs no more. No more check on the House Ds.

Gotta start somewhere. We all agree its a spending problem, if no one is able to agree that spending is the issue, we will continue to rack up massive deficits. The last time a budget balanced we had a Republican house and senate, and a president that would look like a right wing nazi to the current democrat party.

Why is it that people cannot understand that when fiat money comes with debt already attached to it, it can NEVER be paid off? What part of this do people not understand? The cognitive dissonance over the federal reserve and the private banksters who own and run this ongoing scam is mind boggling. 😖

Who was in charge of the executive branch the lat time the federal government ran a surplus?
The Republicans in the house that were in charge of the wallet. They drug bill fucking klintoon and the demoncraps to the table kicking and screaming. Then he/they proceeded to take credit for their agenda.
But you knew this.

The same administration that is responsible for driving our current economy and is achieving peace and world respect.

Maybe, but the gay CIA cutout messiah did not have, nor did he want our current economy, peace and especially world respect regardless of what you and others like you believe.
He actively worked to dismantle and "fundamentally transform" this country.

Funny....Obama was and is an idiot for saying this, .... help me out, I do not recall the previous admin having a thriving economy with record employment and profound efforts to achieve peace,......matter of fact, just the opposite......and FWIW, the Government does not build anything, but it sure helps when they loosen the reins and get out of our way.......

Who is your choice of an electable candidate that can make your conservative "dreams come true"? If you can offer a solution, please do so.....otherwise stop throwing stones as doing so accomplishes nothing. ;)

The president must not have received the memo. Apparently he wants to build things, just like every other president.
