It is the wife's birthday and we are continuing our North Texas Lake tour. So we are on Lake Grandbury this week. Just got to the house and it is a pretty cool place. Private launch and dock so good start so far.

Nice...I'll be following this thread. I'm new to the North Texas area and this lake is about a hour and a half from my house. My Vector lives in Parker but going to be in the market for a Texas boat soon. Have a great trip and please post how the week goes.

Have you tried Cedar Creek Reservoir yet? My sister has a place there. Pretty big lake and clear water on the south end. It's a bit murky on the north end.

That lake has a lot of stumps and trees, be careful boating. My mercury tech says out drive repairs from Granbury keep him real busy.

Thanks for posting info on this lake. It's the closest lake to where we're building our house and I was curious to hear the pros and cons.

I lived on that lake for almost two years back in the mid 80's. It's a very nice lake. I'm sure it's changed a lot since then.

Cool place so far. We ran 38 miles this morning from the Damn to the mouth of Brazos River and turned around. Lot of stunps but that is Texas for you from what I have found out. Great people with several bars and restaurants on the water. Definitely going to look at some houses while we are here.

What has been your favorite thus far?
We like Texoma to date because after the size. The wife and I aren't much for sitting on beaches and like to run the boat. We are going to start checking out Waco, Marble Falls, Austin etc. next year

I can't wait to run some texas lakes next summer, Lake LBJ and Lake Travis are on the list for sure.

What's the deal with the stumps I don't get it? Like they cut the trees down to make a beach, but the stumps stick up so you have to come in carefully with your drive up?

Thank you for the insight! I’m curious about PK Lake too, a bit farther for us but looks interesting.

The Brazos is a big river with occasionally fast current. It picks up a lot of debris after storms.

Hit us up next year - We want to hit all those next year as well. We are looking for other boats to run with and tour the lake's.

I'll probably be making a trip up to Possum Kingdom at some point next summer. Maybe partake in the poker run... I'd like to do that and maybe one more...

I'm also a Lake Travis, Lake Austin local

Hey Scott, guess we haven’t hung out in awhile. [emoji16]
We’re meeting with the architect next Friday and should break ground in February. The house/pool should be finished by the beginning of September. We have a ton of family in and around Midlothian which is where we’re building. [emoji106]

Wife and I are considering a house on a lake in Texas. I would love to see your reviews/pictures from these lakes.

I found a good fishing guide on Cedar Creek Lake, my grandson and I have been going crappie fishing there for three years now.

There are some beautiful houses on the lake, just stunning. I've boated on all the North Texas Lakes, and Cedar Creek is one of the nicest.

We spent 5 days on Cedar Creek Lake back in May. Beautiful lake from what I could see from the place we rented. Unfortunately we didn’t have a boat but I can see why you liked it.

Meanwhile, in the Upper Brazos River basin, Lake Alan Henry 4.5 sq MI. 65 miles South of Lubbock. 90 miles for me. Not a bad drive. Not bad Duty. Lake gave up 1 fish, wee little panfish. Only 5 other boats out yesterday. 100 On Monday. Mellow scene.

Next closest, Lake Meredith, 30 miles North of Amarillo. 4 times the size, but only 1/2 full. Record panfish Lake. Next up.

Another great day on the water and the weather couldn't be any better. This is a kick as time of year come to find out as this is our second September here but we were on a 3 week fishing trip last year. Hung at a couple cool coves and a lot of cruising. Pretty cool lake and area for sure. Love taking Mom out on the boat as well.
