I picked up a used 2005 Parker 2320 Fishing Boat about 4 years ago. It had a 2005 F225 Yamaha (that got to 2,600+ hours) and old (2005 or older) Raymarine Electronics.

Look closely at the older ugly worn out interior!

August 2019, I found a great deal on a 2018 Yamaha F300 on Craigslist in Florida 😱😬. Turns out Mercman Marine in Miami was selling the motor for his buddy. He gave me his word it was in SOLID condition and we made the deal. It showed up and on Labor Day 2019 I swapped the F225 for the F300.

Old F225 Motor:

After looking at the wiring and harnesses, I realized that the newer F300 was slightly different to the F225.

I wired up my new Schiada outboard. Takes tons of time and literature. I did not want to get into that so I called up my buddy Kyle @ WOT Marine.

One day when Kyle was around town, he stopped by and picked her up!

WOT Marine went through all of the wiring/rigging, made work what was there and got whatever items I needed ASAP. They did an outstanding job!

Hell, the first weekend testing the new F300 on the boat, my brother and I took her all the was out to San Clementi Island to go fishing. We ended up putting 180 miles on her that day!

Does it worry you fishing the big blue with a single? Honestly fishing out of the Florida 90% of the boats with outboards were Yamahas, then Mercury. The pretty boats that sit on the docks of the mansions were either Viking sport fishers, or CC with seven marine outboards.

I miss fishing the Gulf dammit

Right before Kyle picked the boat up to put the new motor on, I mounted the RTIC Cooler to the top of my cabin. By the way... FUCK RTIC COOLERS!!!! Worst customer service and they will port their customers right in the pooper!

Anywho, I picked up some aluminum tubing and got to fabricating and new Tuna Tower!

My buddy Ben came over after work a few days and TIG'd this up for me. He did a great job!

I made a table that has a 2 cup holders and a little tray to hold jigs.

Somewhat... Luckily I trust my life with the Coast Guard. As long as my boat is floating, they can pick up VHF reception for many many miles (I hope).

That is why I got new electronics as well. Stay tuned

Sweet electronics are a must have! Usually it was myself and my uncle (boat owner) in his 31ft pursuit. We would plan the day before and give either my aunt or another friend our plan and how far offshore we would go. This would average from 26 miles to 44 miles. Next trip out we're supposed to hit the dry tortugas about 100 miles from Naples.

We also had a satellite tracker and a ditch bag with a gps unit. Best part of electronics was auto pilot, we would set it and rig rods on the trip out.

I envy your fishing trips, and that's an awesome boat.

Now Lets Get into the Electronics. I met Kyle with WOT Marine mid January in OC. Kyle and I talked about the new electronics, planned it out and made it happen. WOT Marine fricken nailed this setup! So great to work with. Kept texting me updated pictures. Followed through the whole time and perfected these electronics! This was absolutely needed and is a HUUUUGE upgrade to the boat. The Auto Pilot is unreal!

-Simrad NSS EVO 3 12" Screen on the dash
-Sonic SS175H-W 20* Tilt Thru-Hull Transducer
-Simrad HALO 20 Radar
-3D Structurescan with another transducer mounted to the stern
-Auto Pilot
-4 Safety Wristbands (Driver falls over, engine shuts off. If 1 of the 3 other passengers fall off, a high squeal chirping starts ringing to go back and get them)
-ICOM VHF
-New GPS Puck, VHF Antenna, ALL WIRING, ETC.
-Simrad Screen above the dash that will be used for Navigation/Auto Pilot
-New LED Stern Light mounted at the top of my Tuna Tower

Transducer for the 3D Structure Scan. I mounted the 2 Underwater LED Lights when I first got the boat. Fun watching all the sea creatures swim around the lights at night.

On the bottom left, this VHF has a distress buttom in case of an emergency. The Coast Guard can see your location with the VHF frequency. It is truly incredible.

The Interior was shot. I made the new bracket out of plastic for the back rest on top of the tuna tower. I then took the driver, passenger, and back rest to get upholstered at this shop in Gardena. This weekend I will post pictures of the new upholstery. Turned out real nice!

We were out fishing and catching some Bass and throwing them back. All of a sudden a 7' Mako started swimming right around the boat. To the point where you could have pet him leaning over. I brought my bass up from 200' down below. They throw up their stomach coming up that quick. It goes back down, but it takes some time before they can swim again. Well, I threw mine right in front of the Mako. That MOFO swims right over, grabs a hold and starts thrashing back and forth. I barely got my phone in time to get some shitty shots. I'm a moron, I should have gotten video, but I was kind of distracted by a bad ass shark eating my fish!

Soon, I will launch the boat, tie up to the dock, and give the trailer rebuild.

I need to grind all of the rust off with a wire wheel grinder and then coat the trailer with cans of galvanize spray paint I picked up.

When WOT Marine was throwing on the engine, they also rebuilt the breaks and repacked the bearings on the trailer!

I might as well Redo the bunks as well. Stay Tuned. Until then, Lot's of fishing and trips out to Catalina!

Definitely my dream boat right there. Nice job on the upgrades. By the way, that is not a bass and not a sculpin. Bass do not throw up their stomach and the one out of the water looks like a chucklehead or starry. Both fish are closed for fishing in california waters until March 1st. Recommend deleting pics.

Barotrauma of some sort [emoji106]

When I get a chance, I'll look online and see if I can better identify the Makos lunch

Kyle and Cole @ WOT do great work and the attention to detail is top of the line. Big reason they do all the work on my boat

Great job man , such a functional boat with the pilothouse and all the upgrades you did. I miss fishing , overnights, surfing Channel Islands or the ranch off a boat but my chick is not down for it at this point in life so get it while ya can . Make sure to get the Boat US/sea tow Ca coastal deal with the single engine because one of my good friends with a Davis 22 got left floating down there and had to pay up to sea tow big time as he was unaware CG didn't tow anymore since we boat North of there.
I wouldn't boat in the Ocean without Boat US! Definitely needed to have and hope to never use [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]

Have a good friend in South Carolina that just bought a NEW 35' Parker last week. He's moving to Florida, around Cape Canaveral, and wanted something to live aboard for a few weeks at a time. Say's he's going to do the Bahama's in it. Twin 300 Yami's and a shit ton of electronics on it. I didn't bother to ask how much!!!!:D

I love Parker boats. You need to replace that light with a boatwhips light. I bet they will make you a shorter one if you want.

Auto Pilot was so bitchen cruising to and back from Catalina this past weekend.

The fish finder is unreal too!

I could easily hear other boaters from SD to Channel islands with little no 0 scrambling.

With the F225, I used to cruise around 4700 RMP's @ 22 Knots. Now with the F300, I cruise at 3800 RPM's @ 22 Knots. I save fuel and instantly get on plane!

This was the first time my pup Mackerel has been on the fishing boat. He did really really well and loved it!

It was more of a vacation rather than a fishing weekend. On Sat, I finally grew a pair and suited up and jumped in the harbor at dusk to find some lobster. I jumped in at dusk to get comfortable with the water before it got 100% black out. Right before it was 100% black, I see this large mass moving in my direction. At first, I thought it was a seal. Well.... That quickly turned in to being a 6'+ Bluntnose Sixgill Shark. Fuckin summa bitch had me walking on water to the shore! I stood on shore to find any resemblance of a testicle to get back in the water. After 15 minutes, I get back in the water and search the rocky shoreline for 5 minutes. I couldn't do it any longer. I kept thinking of the fish I threw to the Mako last weekend and Karma was literally going to bite me in the ass and shake me down! I found a few pictures online of the sixgill shark. This is exactly what I saw swim and make a circle right in front of me.

Awesome thread and boat! That is a great platform for weekend adventures especially with how you have it dialed in now.

Growing up my dad always had a boat in the Long Beach harbor. I spent a lot of time running his 32' Luhrs out to the sand flats and to Catalina for the weekend to fish. We pulled lobster out of Hamilton on lead heads and squid one night with our lights on (make shift transom lights hanging off the side of the boat). The lobster would latch on and let go right at the surface, once we wised up and grabbed a net we quickly had 10 lobsters crawling around the deck.

Awesome write up.. Been looking for a sled to get back out on the blue.... we used to roll a 28' Grady all long Catalina.

This picture used to be a boy scout camp, spent many summers there...Brings back memory's.

Stoked for you on this thing. In your opinion how do the Parkers ride between MDR & Catalina? And also how to they ride going out to San Clemente. Every year I say I'm going to pick one up.
