It must have been a white that got shot by security. Have not heard anything about it up north.

A psyco
Lt. Spencer said the security officers showed "a tremendous amount of constraint" in dealing with the suspect. The security officers repositioned over a 30 second period, police said, so the backdrop shifted from the valet to the hotel building. The suspect continued to point his gun at the officers.

There, Lt. Spencer said the security officers shot the suspect multiple times, killing him. As of 7 p.m., they had not identified the suspect, but said he was a white man between 40 and 50 years old.

The man was not a guest of the hotel, police said, as he walked onto the property an hour prior to the shooting.

Who would have known/predicted the circumstances following COVID. Nothing makes any sense.

This is why I didn't want the Raiders here I'm a Raiders fan but it just brings in the rift raft . This is going to keep happening during football season and only get worse when the stadium opens!

My tax dollars paying for this bullshit!

I was reading about that in LVRJ. I was going to go to South Point Friday while I Was there but ran out of time. Wanted to see it ever since it was featured on the Action documentary. Maybe see ole Brent Musberger there.

Yeah of course not but it doesn't help just my opinion. I use to go to the games at the colosseum and witnessed it first hand. We're not all like that of course but a lot are just calling like I see it, hey hopefully I'm wrong!!

I met a Couple from Bolder City and he had moved from Bakersfield 8 Months ago and said down town was just Flat out of control and they used to Love Fremont Street, but lately it is a disaster. He blames most of it on th Mayor, Governor, and others in Office. He also stated he feels the Cheap Rooms that allow 10-+ people per room and never spending any money in the Casinos, bring their own ZBooze and food and are Low life TRASH. There was nothing great to say about the PD and in his opinion it is so far Out Of Control he doen not imagine how it gets turned around.

P.S. He is an Electrical Inspector and has seen every inch of the Raiders Stadium and says it is Unbelievable and State Of The Art. Only one problem The average Family can't afford to enjoy.

My SIL, who is LVMPD, said the strip is quite the dangerous place and has been for awhile.

Cheers, Steve

A while, as in since covid? Or going back some years?

I've never had problems in Vegas but it's palpable that there's only a thin layer separating all the fun from the crime.

We RV camp at Sams Town when visiting Grandma Axehandle in LV. Or did. The security at the RV park entrance is busy dealing with riff raff all the time. Just a matter of time when one of the security gets stabbed or shot.
Rebel gas station a few blocks away often has a score of Leos hooking someone up, ambulance,, drama.

The BofA drive up ATM across the street I'll only use in bright daylight, no one around and my 9 handy.

Use to be that wide open, melancholy drive with the boat to Lake Mead. Now: Skid Row. Easy to have an incident just stopped on Boulder waiting for the light to change.

Raiders Sports bar Legends down the street is 24 hour buzz-in last we visited. It's getting to be that way all over town. Buzz in 24/7.
A couple trips ago two tweaker chicks made it in, tried to assault the 5'4, 22 year old lean farmchick bartender, wife of a service person and the bartender kicked both their asses in milliseconds.

If you're carrying pepper spray don't use it unless you absofuckinlutely have to. Heed my advice. I'll digress on that take.

Nevada but especially focused on Vegas, Vegas has gotten out of control, the gov tied Metro's hads a while ago....GOV policy allows these criminals to roam free and you would NOT BELEIVE ME if I tell you that criminals cannot be arrested without it being a Felony or a Major Crime and beat officers have to ask a LT. if they can arrest anyone that is caught other then felonies or major crimes and most of the time they are cited and released...basically arrested but let go without ever stepping a foot in city jail or prison.........LVMPD is so understaffed for a city so huge it takes hours to get a response for non Felony calls...Drugs, gangs, loitering, harassments, trespassing with intent to break in, casing properties/cars...etc....Metro is ordered to LET THEM GO either Cite and Release or FI them with a warning and putting them on Metros radar...Vegas has gone a LONG LONG LONG way away from DONT MESS AROUND IN VEGAS METRO WILL GET YOU! it is now Mini California and with GOV SISSLYLACKOFSPINE it has gotten worse and worse every month.....
FORGOT TO ADD: It is NOT Metro's fault, it is the political leaders...Metro is so understaffed it is crazy we do not have 10x time crime but it is getting there...GOV raises taxes and pays for illegals programs including housing, food, schooling, medical, and other useless programs by the millions wasting tax payer money instead of funding more police.......AND worst of all the citizens are so fed up with taxes going up they keep voting down Metros request for more funds to employ more officers...something is going to give soon.....

He has said for years that people don’t realize how dangerous the strip is and it has got worse over time. When I have time I might post about the time a dirtbag made the very regrettable decision to attempt to victimize myself and daughter and SIL. It was in the middle of the day and we were just off the strip. I’m always heavily armed 😉 as is my SIL.

I was on call working at Allegiant for the Bills vs Raiders, you know just in case the cellular system goes down with no fans ;) but anyhoo, quite a bit more Metro presence at this one vs the first game with the Saints. Not sure why, there were far less fans hanging around outside. I don't frequent the strip, but in the locals spots I haven't noticed much difference. I am however taking my CCW this weekend, just for peace of mind. Crime is everywhere, in every city, keep aware of your surroundings and don't put yourself in a bad situation.

Yep. My God son is a LVMPD. Young kid and not a huge kid. Hopefully he stays as safe as he can. It worries me
What station does he work out of?

The first night in Vegas we would always do a walk about. Start at one end of the strip and walk as far as we could stopping in each casino for a new drink and wandering on. Sounds like those days are over. At the very least the mob protected the tourists. Metro.should be out there busting heads.

Metro is worthless at this point, reactive policing is all they are about now. The DA in Lv needs to get his head out of his ass and realize that tourism drives LV and without it the city will crumble. More blue policy makers destroying what was once a great city!

Friend just returned today from 3 days in LV.
Casinos are warning guests not to walk on the strip. Enter/exit out the back of the hotels.

Good to know. We will be there next month and again in December.

we have a one nite reso coming up soon. After seeing this thread, I made mention of cancelling to the wife. Said IF we go, we will stay in and on resort property. I don't know if its even worth going. I have not ever liked wondering around the strip anyway, people and crowds seem to just frustrate me these days.

was not super excited to go and might be even less excited now.

We went a couple of weeks ago to our go to.......Mandalay Bay. The crowds are definitely lower class but I never felt unsafe. We went downtown on Friday night and bounced around the south end of the strip by MB on Saturday night. There is clearly a different, louder, less classy crowd right now but we didn't bother them and they didn't bother us. I've heard that room rates are moving up quickly and that will solve many of these problems.

Turns out that elections matter- Nevada's Governor is a democrat and Clark county's DA is democrat also.

Just had a buddy come back, he said never again, until they raise rates. Its an Oakland warzone right now is what he quoted.

It sounds to me like its a third world country at this moment and people wont leave the resort. That's crazy again this is happening in our own country.

The casinos will handle the issue.

They took 90% of the guns away from Security over the years. But yea I agree, they need to arm them again and this shit will work itself out.

And TRUST ME, it is much worse than most actually hear about...I would never walk the strip without a group of like minded friends that are always prepared to handle almost any issue related to the criminal activity....That said, we all avoid the strip like it has a life ending plague floating around at all times...

Major casino’s hiring extra security, bag and body checks at entrance. Hotels raising rates to keep out. “ undesirables “ . Interesting times ...

That’s just F’g sad. Any convention business they would keep will disappear.
