Too early in the year for good fishing.
Everyone is is moving a little slow after last night.. big breakfast should cure the hang overs.. lol
They are talking about running down to gonzaga (spelling?) bay and the bay of LA.. it’s 85 miles on way..
So I’m not overly religious or cosmic etc.. but life throws a lot of things and ya gotta assume the people up above are looking down on you.
Long story short my old mans birthday was Feb 16.. and when he designed a particular toilet valve he named it the 216. That valve ended up being the thing that bought the river house and all the toys etc... So when I was growing up if we would ever go racing or had to assign a number to something the number would always be 216..
It’s why my email address is davejohnson216@gmail etc...
So I get to drinkin last night and thinking about the first time I was here which probably 35-36 years ago.. which was the first time I drove a stick shift car (vw powered rail) etc..
And the last time I was here (which was probably 30 years ago) I was with a guy named Brad Bauder. Well this guy is Brad’s right hand man and has worked for him for 11 years or so.. and I’m bullshitting with him about that

And I look down on the table and see the key to the house and see that we happened to end up randomly in house number

Looks like you got the obligatory Mexican sweater.... man I have a closet full of those scratchy ass bitchez.... but always fond Mexican memories whenever I wear em in US. I see Baja as what Southern Cali coastal must've been like pre development boom... Have a blast its such a page out of time!Sea shell hunting..
And yes we drove out onto the low tide..
The new SXS’s go up China wall out in glamis... I think they will be fine cruising the mean beaches of Mexico.

hey @mesquito_creek do you know if there are access trails from the cantina to get down to San Felipe? (obviously, once the area opens back up after the terrible earthquake and cartels running the show)
Damn, I haven't been down that way in years. Look like an awesome trip!!

You will probably go off the grid soon. Hit the cow bar on the way into Puertocitos and be prepared for one more military check point just north of Gonzaga.
Food at Gonzaga
I always feel so much safer in caravans down there. Its key.Great thread. Thank you for posting. Looks like great family fun. In the late 80's and 90's we would drive down. After a few close calls, we now will be staying on this side of the border. Im sure rolling with a big crew changes some of the risks.
This last beach spot looks like a slice of heaven. Some pics from gonzaga and the trip down there..
the internet it too slow right now for me to add the descriptions (taking too long to load the images)
