Looks like someone is trying to sell one

I had a buddy that worked at DLI and I always drooled over those things! Even with all the bitchin’ hemi stuff they had, the VW blowers were sweet!

While a turbo may make more hp. Those did make a lot of torque with no delay Rode in a nice street bug with one and was surprised at the instant acceleration. Makes a great driver

The
they pop on the samba on occasion. They’re about 5k for a basic one
Yikes!!
A turbo may be cheaper too.
But a mini blower would be rad:)
Without that big ass scoop there might be room!

yes, when i picked up the car it already been hacked up a bit, spent the better part of a year unfucking others work, the car had started with the best of intentions by a guy that worked for sandlimo, however he sold it and the second owner half assed the rest to flip it.

Yeah that seems to be the norm with most bajas, your first year or so is full time unfuckery.

The Landy B&M superchargers were built for drag racing, very few of them around, never seen a Holley version, copyright must be up....:D Come to think of it however, pretty sure it was the manifolds they made? Maybe the tiny supercharger has different applications I am not aware of.

They work really well, better than a turbo IMO since lower compression VW motors get a shit ton from them, while they don't really produce enough exhaust to make a turbo work that well in my experience.

Either way, if you ever get a chance to buy either version for a decent price I'd jump on it. 9800....does not seem like a decent price to me lol.

yes it does, quite impressive power thru out the rpm range, we have a subie 2.5 turbo built by john at outfront that can't keep up with it at all, and a ls1 car that cannot beat it off the line.

I still have a Hot VW magazine somewhere with an article on them. 1/2 a Chevy 350 right?
Yep, pretty much a small block cut in half. I had a friend who had one with a turbo in his rail and it was insane! Sounds like a small block but with only 4 cylinders. Not sure what ever happened to them, I read that they became popular in Midget's...

A buddy was the X2 jet ski champion in the late 80s. Holeshot engineering in San Diego built his motors. His 550 modified motor had a modified VW blower attached to his 550 ski. Fricken rocket ship. Was cool to watch on TV as he would leave everyone behind. Worked well unless he got water under the engine cover, it didnt like that one bit. Was very creative work.

Had a friend in high school that had a street dune buggy with a little blower on it. Pretty sure it was a Judson charger. We took it out one night on our high school track and tore the football field up pretty good. The jocks weren't too happy.

Yep. My old man used to run them in his midgets at Ascott back in the day.

The Sesco dominated midget racing all across the country for quite a few years.
