We are headed out this weekend. Do they offer a launch service? We do not want to have to use the motorhomes.

Anyone know of someone?

to my knowledge Antelope was the only place that had a launch service.

that was shut down when water levels rendered their ramp unuseable, but with the water up somewhat now, may be active again. i would check with Antelope point marina.

lots of trucks/boats launching at wahweep stateline ramp. Im sure $20 and a 12 pack might get you some assistance. powell is a different world for polite boaters.

If all fails this is a great idea
If I was there I would do it 👍

I stopped at Lake Powell a couple of weeks ago on a road trip through Utah - The main ramp at Wahweap by the hotel was completely unusable with about 30 feet of sand going down in to the water where the concrete on the launch ramp ended. There was a new ramp by state line that was functional but looked like the trucks needed to back in pretty deep in order to launch. As suggested, I would call Antelope to see if they offer a valet launch service, or offer $$ and drinks to someone at the stateline ramp.

I was there from May 28th - June 4th. The only usable ramp is the Stateline Auxiliary ramp. The water has been rising, but I don't think at a rate that will enable Wahweap or Antelope to be used yet. Best to give Antelope a call just to be sure though.

I'm here now waiting for the wind to die down before heading up lake.

You can call around and ask but the launch ramp at stateline is probably 8 lanes wide. So it's big enough for your rv if you can snag a couple cheap two way radios it may help for backing.

Also the stateline ramp is extremely flat so your motorhome will be fine getting up. Best of luck to ya!!

Probably referring to the stateline launch ramp. It's not far at all. The wahweep ramp is only open for non motorized watercraft at the moment.

Actually looks closer to our campground.

Yes it's extremely close to the campground. The parking lot for the original stateline ramp is right across the street... I now understand why you don't want to us the motor home.

If you don't want to rent a slip. I would suggest bringing a vehicle to help with launching. Or renting a vehicle in page if no services or valets are available. There are shuttles moving people from wahweep docs up to the parking lots for wahweep which would make the hike easier.

Maybe call the campground and see if they have a shuttle to and from if you have a slip rented.

Now it all makes sense...
Huge outage around your place this morning! Apparently power was down through most of Chino, Paulden and parts of Prescott.

I launched with my 30' Class C a few years ago and it was fine. I read that wahweap is open and Stateline opened a few weeks ago.

If you're on Instagram follow Powellheadz. Really cool guys that are Powell experts and they give updates regularly

I think Antelope will be high and dry. Also, I believe the valet uses your vehicle to launch and retrieve but I could be wrong there. If that is the case it doesn't solve the Moho issue AND it would take more than it's worth to tow the boat to Antelope vs. launching behind Moho.

What dates will you be launching? I go up on Wednesday and come home Monday so I'll be there all weekend. If it's not terribly inconvenient I'd launch you. And yes, I take Gatorade or Diet Coke for payment.

As of yesterday water needs to come up 15 feet for Wahweap to be usable but who knows if they'll open it now that they have State Line up and running.

Water is rising 3-6" a day right now, hopefully that continues.

The only ramp open on the south end is state-line auxiliary ramp . The lake needs to come up another 10 to 15 feet for antelope valet to be usable.

We arrive Sunday. I think someone that is coming with our group has a truck. We will see. Where are you staying?

I hope not that much but that's what i would have been expecting, I would not be surprised for that to be on point for Antelope. I did however talk to someone at valet services last week and I asked how much higher will we need water to come up to launch the skis at Antelope, he might have been guessing 5 feet. We will be visiting in a few weeks. I can't help but think as soon as we leave, the water will already be dropping as it did last year for us.

I used the valet in late September, the water level was at around 3545 and they were operating day to day.

So damn krazy! I think we were less than that last July, then the blue mesa water came to the rescue. Arggggggggg!
We want to continue our annual trips but really nervous about booking houseboat right now for next year. 🙈

Just a heads up @Swain I don't know you're route but highway 89 outside of Flagstaff was closed because of the fire so you may need to plan a route through the grand canyon or from Winslow and go north.

We live on the Animas that runs into the San Juan which runs into Powell. Had monsoon rains every day this past week. More rain expected next week. This will help Powell in a small way.
