Thinking about installing a water pressure gauge in my 270. Where is the best place to install the tubing fitting besides the block drain hole?

The other block drain hole 😉

Your tstat housing may have an open spot for one

Well shit!!!! Why didn't I think of that... Looking at a pic of my t-stat and I think there is a plug in it that I could use.
Pick of it before it was cleaned and re powdercoated.
You fair ok with the freeze?

I am betting you will have plenty more of them to do in the coming weeks and months. You still going to ramrod the LT regatta in June?

I'm making this year all about me and being quite a bit more selfish with my time this summer. :) I'm thinking about maybe trying to sneak up to PK at some point too

I have been wanting to go there also. Let me know when you go. I think there is at least one other RDP'er who lives there and several in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. Could be a good time.

Wouldn't you want to run it off the highest point you could ?

I would think the if you run it off the block drain any sediment that gets picked up over time would impede the sending unit.

Just curious.

In theory yes, its also important to be on the bottom side of the thermostat when tapping off of the tstat housing. However, well cared for boats dont generally have that problem :)

I was going to say sometimes one of the coolers has a 1/8 pipe thread drain hole you can use.

I have mine plumbed to the rear of the intake manifold, if you can make it aimed down so it drains it will grow less crud

This was my placement for a w/p gauge. Canton racing makes a t-stat block off plate with a air bleed (search amazon) also got the liquid filled pressure gauge “winters” brand from amazon. Hope this helps.
