Any tips or suggestions on setting one up? Can it be done on a garden hose off the house pressure? I built a little contraption with a gauge and at full pressure can set the valve to 14-15 lbs bit start to choke the water down and the valve still flows down to about 7 lbs. maybe it’s wore out or I’m not doing this correctly. Application is on a v drive cruiser with jacketed headers which are the only water exits aside from this valve.

You running an Intercooler where you need pressure relief? Headers should handle the pressure. Here is a page from Teagues website. Hope that helps.

No. NA motor. Valve was already there. I would just feel comfortable knowing it’s set up correctly and prevent any excess block pressure or reversion blowing all that water out the headers

After toying around with this thing all evening yesterday I was stumped. Nothing was consistent no matter what I did. Randomly today while driving it dawned on me what I was doing wrong. I didn’t have any flow going through my ‘jig’. So I picked up a few more fittings and mimicked how it would actually function and quickly had the part adjusted and worked perfectly test after test. I’m sure it’s not exactly necessary on my boat but it’s peace of mind knowing it’s is adjusted and functioning properly. Below is a pic of the ‘jig’ I’ve hooked to a garden hose in case anybody comes across a similar issue or concern someday. By placing a fingertip pressure over the smaller nipple you can fluctuate the water pressure to your desired setting. I’ve set mine to 15lbs
