Actually the complete opposite occurred. Electoral college ensures everyone s vote in all the states counts not just 3 huge crime ridden, bankrupt, high tax progressive socialist states.

Everyone votes, who ever has the most votes wins. Seems pretty straight forward. Majority rules.

The end of fair elections happened when the electoral college was initiated.

That would be September 6, 1787 and our first presidential election was held on Monday, December 15, 1788. So what's your point other than the fact you do not know what you are talking about?

In your scenario....... your beloved "City Rats" would control everything....How is this fair to farmers, rural areas and country folks?....No Thank You...Your City Rats have fucked up enough already! I prefer to NOT live in a shit hole.

That’s a democracy.
In this REPUBLIC, States elect Presidents, with individuals in States sending a representative amount of “State” votes (the electorates) to the presidential candidate that that States population votes for.

We are a collection of 50 States (or 57 if you’re an Obama Fan) that form a Republic. The “United States of America”.

If there were no States, then you would be correct. Ask the USSR or Yugoslavia about how that works. Oh wait...they erased their “state” lines.
Your party is trying desperately to eliminate the State representation in Presidential elections so that 2 States (basically) can decide the election. In lew of that, they are pressing for the right of electorates to IGNORE what the State population votes for.
How is it that you can support what amounts to tyranny?

Democracy - mob rules

The Founding Fathers created mechanisms to protect the minority, from the majority.

That’s why we have a house (population based) and senate (2 votes per state).

There are articles they’ve written about how populations centers can grow too powerful...these were very learned men.

To think that some flunkies, who can’t figure out what bathroom to use, believe they’re smarter than our founders is ridiculous.

Careful what you wish for...the numbers ebb and flow from one side to the other.

You may have the numbers today, tomorrow you may not.

Its just my opinion. I feel the majority vote should decide the winner.

What interesting is Trump has said he would have preferred the popular vote because he felt it would be much easier to win. Very ironic.

City rats? LOL OK

Actually there were only 5 times where the popular vote didn't match the electoral college. 3 were in the 1800's and the other two were Gore vs Bush and Trump. So if you think the "City Rats" would have had control the hole time you would be wrong.

In re to your Jeff Foxworthy meme ( he is hilarious by the way ) if all the dem states are shit holes then why does the majority of the population live there? Why does allot of our Tech originate form from those states? Why do some of the highest level of education institutions reside in those states? Not everyone want to be a farmer.

So why the BIG PUSH to change things now?

That's how honest he is as a candidate.
We can “prefer” all we want , and we sometimes do...that’s why we have a SCOTUS to keep us in line with the rule book (ideally).
Let’s look at this from a different vantage point.
You state that a majority rule landscape is what you’d prefer.
I think you live in CA? There have been a number of measures in CA during the time I lived there where the majority of voters made State decisions. YOUR party did not like the outcome and filed suits. The 9th circuit has made a CAREER out of overturning voters decisions.
Let’s consider this as well...the countries I mentioned before are an example where States did not follow their own rules of unification. It resulted in massive warfare and tragedy of death, and in the end separate countries without the benefits of unification...and war continues in almost every example. This is nothing new.

What you are proposing is the same thing.
Our greedy White forefathers were EXTREMELY smart and experienced in all manner of politics, economy, business, and even the global workings of deep state even then. They laid the foundation of what amounts to one of the greatest civilizations of this period of earthly habitation.
I have no illusions. It isn’t going to last forever...nothing on earth will, and certainly not a government or nation.

But for now, imagine that to “get your way” you backed the exit of CA and NY from the union. How would that be for you?
You can elect by majority your own little president, make your own countries laws, run it however you choose....correction...however the MAJORITY chooses.
If at that point you disagree with the results of the totalitarian vote...what will be your recourse?
THIS IS THE EXACT REASON that virtually every singular non unified nation is in constant warfare both internally and on ever shifting borders.

I hear you. But to clarify, it’s not my party. I don’t know if I relate completely with either. I don’t agree completely with both but don’t disagree with both completely either. I was just saying a vote is usually decided by the majority wins. Pretty simple.

Our forefathers were not as great at everything like you make them out to be. They believed in slavery and that women are not equal just for starters. But I will say they knew enough to know that they didn’t know everything. So they left an opening for things to be changed. Which is an amazing thing that should be recognized and applauded. They realized things can change for the better if society changes. I guess kinda like changing they way we vote should the need arise.

We just have a difference of opinion on it. Fair enough.

Simply put, “majority rules” is not what a constitutional republic is.
There is no opinion about it, from me or you.
States elect presidents. That’s how it works.
If you change that then we no longer have the United States of America.

It will happen one day. After much bloodshed and the destruction of our Nation as we know it. Of this I have little doubt.
I used to think it would be within 50 years or so, now I believe it’s here.

Slavery was the way of the world all over the place. My people included less than 1000 years ago.
Slavery exists right now today in your town. Every single day volunteers and other hero's work diligently and risk death to free sex traffic victims from San Diego to NYC.
Girls from all over the world and right here too.
Who is their champion? Do they count?
I know more about the founding fathers than the school books teach. Lol
I know the shady shit they were into and the implications of societies and the myths of their religion.
We killed hundreds of thousands of our own sons and brothers in the civil war.
Do we need to fight another one for the same god damned reason from history?

Has enough blood not been shed yet to appease the wrongs from 150 years ago?
