Looking at the first cold front approaching Texas from the North. Here on the South Plains it's a straight shot up to Canada. Nothing too drastic, and we warm up again next week. Tripple Digits gone will be nice.

We need the rain, it's the 50 mph wind that could be a problem. Better Batten! Ahoy!

We were in Island Park this weekend. Sat it was 90, Monday 80 to 35 and snowing within 45 min. Than we spent an extra day to avoid the storm but still ended up in it pulling a big enclosed trailer. We saw about 75 vehicles tipped over and had to hide under a bridge on the 15. I was legitimately worried about tipping over...I heard 112 MPH winds. Bro had his bed cover go verticle, stops to get out and winds snapped the door on his F350.

River Island SP Colorado River Parker Az.

Meanwhile, on the South Plains.
Wonderfully cool mornings here lately.

Some very hot SoCal weather reported by my Santee sources is starting to moderate.

Desert Dave in Yucca Valley is the same elevation as I am here in Texas. 3500ft. He said his Dad in Montana has had snow. Above Billings I believe. His Dad lives right by the river.
Dave is always grumbling cause his Dad doesn't fish, and Both Dave and I can't fish enough. 😆

I have to remind him at least he doesn't live in Lawndale.

It was early February. 45 at night. Beautiful days. Spent the month in SoCal and Parker. River rises in the morning. Swirls into the cove. Beautiful place, River Island SP.

Snow. And the Sycamore trees are still semi green, trees still have all their leaves.

Had a little snow overnight. How much snow? As my Boss at IMI in Maryland used to say when we'd go there and ask him, "Just enough to piss you off..."
