Alabama Republicans have just passed a law imposing a life sentence on any doctor who provides an abortion, even where the woman or girl was raped or the victim of incest. Obviously hoping it’ll go to SCOTUS for Kavanaugh and Gorsuch to force this Christian version of Sharia law on the rest of the country. Hopefully Roberts places some value on the stare decisis, though recent unrelated case law calls this into doubt. I can’t imagine anyone would want their daughter to be raped and then victimized all over by the state forcing her to bear pregnancy. Here’s a question. If any one of you found a person, let’s say an illegal Mexican immigrant, had broken into your home and taken up residence, would you let him sleep in your bed for nine months? What would you tell the Feds if they tried to force you to accept this visitor not just to your country but to your personally owned home? And yet Alabama says an uninvited visitor can set up residence in your body and you get no voice in the matter.

So that’s it. An unborn child is the same as an illegal alien or uninvited visitor.

With the recent infanticide laws enacted in New York and Virginia, did you really think other states would not push back and pass laws minimizing abortion, and legislate their views on abortion as well?

You assholes on the left are the ones that lead this to be pushed so far. You fucks couldn’t leave well enough alone and started pushing buttons, what did you think was going to happen? Pro life was forced to go full in, just another attempt by the left to politicize everything.

This law probably won't stand. There is also no real definition of "grave health risks to the mother" that would allow such an abortion to take place, so there is a loophole.

Pretty easy to get in a car and drive across state lines to have the procedure anyway.

Clearly, you have never listened to the heartbeat, for the first time, of one of your children well before any of you fascist baby killers would call it a human. I really feel sad for you, your total lack of a soul, and your total focus on your own being. You are so far below being a human, you make the shit eater look more human.

Now l will add the caveat that, l don't believe all Democrats think this way ;). But this is so fucked up, the life of a unborn or just born child is worth nothing yet a turtle or bird is worth more is so incredibly wrong:( .
God will sort these fuckers out for their sins at the pearly gates, "you can take that to the bank".

... and this is where I break ranks with conservatives.

I find abortion, well, aborhant. But I also realize it won't stop just because you pass a law that makes it illegal. Which drives it underground and that is a path to all other sorts of horrible outcomes. So laws like Alabama's aren't what is needed.

... and before the liberals think I'm on their side;

Aborting viable fetus' is just gastly. Aborting a child because they aren't perfect is just as bad. Aborting a baby because it is incovenient is beyond my comprehension.

I remember the tests when my wife was 16 weeks when the nurse practitioner said that depending on what we find, we could make a decision on how to proceed. That begged the question on what we would find, "Oh, you know birth defects like down sydrome or stuff like that".

I look at my children and think of how blessed I am to have them in my life, and couldn't think about having ended their lives before they were born.

Except since R vs W it's become birth control, a baby but a booger to flick into the trash. Furthering the complete degeneration of society to it's current level with a complete lack of respect of human life to the point the Turds traffic in body parts from the babies they kill.

60 million and counting...

Is this your opinion or a scientific fact?

If not a human, when does it become a human?
It’s a scientific fact. That image is a fetal mouse but y’all are so eager to call every mass of cells human that you don’t even care that it bears only the faintest resemblance to an actual human. Meanwhile you tolerate assholes like Hullbully calling Central American immigrants, including children, subhuman filth. That’s fucked up. A human’s value does not peak at the fifth week of development- show a little more compassion for humans who have the capacity for thinking and speech and emotion before blobs of tissue which can’t be distinguished except by DNA from fetal mice, chickens, or frogs.

It won't stop if you overturn Roe v. Wade either. If history teaches us anything it is that prohibition doesn't stop anything.

If you want to stop any action, you need to make it socially unacceptable. Passing laws doesn't do that.

I agree that you can't legislate human behavior, ........but Roe V Wade did enhance the acceptability and accelerate the number of abortions........so challenging it and possibly reversing it will be Giant Steps toward achieving the socially unacceptable label ;)

Agreed, its not easy. I will say, its nowhere near the notion of "reproductive right" or "women's health" when you figure out two things: 1. killing the product of reproduction is not a right. 2. half or over half of the babies aborted are destined to be women, not sure how that is healthy for women.

The not easy part, I believe, is how to deal with rape/incest/will kill the mom type situations. And dont confuse a baby, with independent DNA from the mom with a surgery like chopping off an arm. just sayin
