Doing the whole lung cancer deal myself, we'll see how how this works out I suppose. My mom and stepdad are coming as usual. My nephew is dragging my dyeing brother (cirrhosis) to my place that will probably be his last. Guess it will be good and bad as step dad is also starting treatment for lung cancer next week.
Sorry to put a bummer post on the thread,
The Hapuna/Mauna Kea beaches are iconic! Make sure you walk down to the Mauna Kea beach bar and get a Fredrico. It is! Happy thanksgiving!
Much easier and less mess :

I'm really sorry to hear that. My MIL up in Leavenworth has had quite the fight with it. Lost half a lung, heavy treatments, imunotherapy etc. I wish you the best in the treatment, and I'll reach out in a couple weeks when I'm up that way. Happy thanksgivingDoing the whole lung cancer deal myself, we'll see how how this works out I suppose.

Roads are fine. They overreacted IMO on the closing of most the roads with the exception of Mud canyon. Took a flight in my uncle’s Cardinal today over Scottys Castle and Ubehebe crater and the road looked fine but they still have it closed. They just opened up cottonwood canyon today and I took a ride to a mile past the marble canyon split and they’ve run a scraper past where I turned around. We are camping in Stove pipe Wells for the week. My family has been doing thanksgiving here since 1955. Tomorrow we are doing lookout city in the Argus range above panamimt valley. The last picture is of the campground in Stove pipe the big group is us.How’s DV park and the roads? You wheeling through the park?
The doctors and oncologist have been pretty awesome for the small town I'm in the Wenatchee Valley as you probably know and have nothing but good things to say. So far so good! When the wife dragged me in the the ER last January after some tests I was held and had a crainiotmy sp? two days later.I'm really sorry to hear that. That’s awesome! Tell Kathleen I said hello.Having a surprise 99th birthday Sat for my Dad. It’s at my brothers. I have The Patriots coming by at noon to honor him as a Veteran and present a plaque to him. They come by on motorcycles with American flags etc. The Patriots are a cool organization that does this often free of charge. All motorcyclists are welcome to join. They all meet up somewhere like a parking lot then come over. Just like a 20 minute meet and greet. In Riverside. I think they have a FB page. I got a lot of family flying in for it. About 50 people will be there
Other than that, smoking a Turkey and have my kids over.

Thanks for the DV report and pics! Awesome to see from the air.
The NPS loves to keep tight control over things at all the parks. They’d rather no one
