I was listening to some Velvet Underground when I came across these two gems:
A collection of acapella songs by John Cale and Chrissie Hynde, who sang four of her classics - proof that she is undoubtedly the best female rocker, ever.
-- and --
John Cale from Velvet Underground, in his terse acceptance speech to the hall of fame, said:
“This event makes an astonishing point to all the young musicians in the world, that sales are not the “be all” and “end of all "of Rock N Roll; and everyone should be encouraged thru inspiration and artistic freedom, which is the cornerstone of Rock N. Roll”
And probably to the dismay of the audience, they played a previously unheard, recently written tribute to Sterling Morrison, a member of the band that died less than a year earlier.
