I ran across a couple of super cool vids that I've never seen before.

Cash with the original Tennessee 3 including guitarist Luther Perkins and a young Statler Bros on backing vocals. Perkins died about a year later. :(

Excellent set of tunes, love each and every song.

Shortly after Luther Perkins died, Carl Perkins (not related) played with the Tennessee 3. This time, backed up by the Carter sisters. June, Anita, Helen, and Mabelle.

Cash's next guitarist was Bob Wooton, who played with him until the end. Wooton also married Anita Carter. Tight knit group lol.

I've seen the Rush HOF vid many times, but I never saw the "finale". Dang, look who played on that stage together....

Rush, John Fogerty, Heart, Tom Morello, Chris Cornell on vocals and guitar, Dave Grohl, and Taylor Hawkins. Wowza! Skip to 28:00 for the finale.

Currently listening to some old school Dream Theater. Today they announced the return of founding member and drummer Mike Portnoy to the band.. Big news in the DT world. I will most likely see them in concert.

Whadda ya think? HOB Anaheim, December 02. Not sure if Fat Mike is touring with them right now? And I hope it's not a Xmas show.

These guys are radical, I bet it will be a ton of fun

Watching the Chargers & they played ‘Malibu’ from Hole going to commercial break w/ some drone beach footage … hadn’t heard that shit in what .?.?.?… 20-ish years ???

Couldn’t remember the song name or who even played it … little google search & found it.

I HATED Courtney Love & all that mess / scene when it was popular … after not hearing it in so long … I can appreciate it now. Catchy guitar riffs & vocals ….

I can't remember what rock station was going off air...but this was their last song they played in a rock format. Then poof, gone.

Always liked these guys, their lyrics were a little deeper than most of the 80's fluff...

Almost a decade before Motley Crew, Ratt, Poison etc...there was Angel. Who just released a new record. But pretty cool they are at it again. I remember playing this on 8-track over and over again.

Classic Angel

In 84' I drove a crappy 64' American Rambler. Straight 6, I swear it had less than a 100hp. Even slammed w/surf racks, it still looked...gay.

Subwoofer technology did not exist for the everyday teenage kid. So it was all about stuffing as many 6X9's as would fit.

The Rambler had stereo.

An Alpine head unit, several "Jet Sound" amps and 6 6X9's.

The car was ugly AF...but people heard me coming, especially with this one. Recorded from vinyl to one of those fancy gold Maxell cassette tapes. Somehow the tape came out stellar. No "dolby" noise reduction required to hide the hiss.

One weekend in 83...

Friday night Sammy Hagar and Night Ranger at the Orange Pavilion, followed by Saturday night Billy Squier and Def Leppard at Irvine Meadows, where it rained cats and dogs and I froze my nuts off.

About a month later it was 2-days at the US Festival.

If in SoCal I'm guessing it was KWST 106 and it would have been early 80's. Immediately following the changeover around 9:00pm that night the first song they plattered up was Paul Anka's "Puppy Love". 🤮 BOOM, as fast as I could get to the receiver it got bumped up a notch to KROQ . Not the type of thing easily forgotten.
