10# butt. Used Adobo seasoning as a rub. Put it in about 11pm Friday night and it finished about 10:30 the next morning. Shredded it and made carnitas tacos later that night. Love the convenience of my RecTec.

Brisket on the Woodwind pellet smoker, spare ribs and two small butts on my homemade stick burner. Chicken wings to follow on the Weber kettle with the vortex contraption. 111E80FE-4297-4E07-812E-CC763974DCA6.jpeg BCC9B17A-1FB4-422E-9288-87CC6EC6F11B.jpeg 79D9BCE5-E2B2-4B28-82FC-A8CDA01A2944.jpeg 9FBF424C-4482-4483-906D-DD440C748B29.jpeg

Tossed on another pulled pork last night. Used J.P. Licious Rub. It was on the small side so only took 8 hours at 250. Seasoned it with some Famous Dave’s Rub after pulling. I see breakfast burritos and tacos in my future. :)

Smoked up some pork steaks, fresh bacon and elk chorizo...all in the pot they went with several other ingredients for pot beans, complimented with elk tenderloin!!!

Hmmmmm I have a apple pie from Julian in the freezer, I do believe I will have to try this :)
I tried mine with pecan which I thought was a little too strong. I will try cherry next time and maybe up the temp a little to get it off a little faster.

I would think apple wood would work really nicely as well

Well ya, but apple can be a little strong too. I’m thinking something a little more mellow.
Copy, I used applewood for the peach cobbler and also a mixed berry cobbler I did, wasn’t too strong imo but everyone’s tastes are different :)...post some pics when you do the apple pie, better yet bring me a piece, hahahaha

Looking forward to seeing the brisket.
I’ve tried 2 briskets and killed them both. By killed i mean almost inedible. Gotta get up the nerve and $100 to take another run.
Idk if you have a Sam’s club by you but they have been having prime briskets for $3.49 a lb, hell of a deal for sure!!!...I can always give ya a few pointers for cooking them :)

Thanks, always looking for tips. I over-cooked the first one. Did a shitty trim job on the last one. It was really good in tacos the next day. A little overwhelming due to too much fat.

These guys have really ran with it!
They’re giving me some great ideas for future cooks.

Any of you guys have the killer plan for smoking salmon? As far as prep? Time/temps?
I’ve never tried smoking fish, but I love eating it:)

Did a 12 lb. brisket on Monday, old school style on the Weber instead of the GMG.
Came out great!

Google “Johnny Garlics cedar plank salmon”...make the recipe just as described except put the cedar plank directly on the smoker, you’ll thank me later!!!
