And still do.
It’s a good in between the shitty domestic’s / light beers and the cough syrup “craft” beers. Staring at the picture and all this typing is making me thirsty!

If I remember correctly it was about 5 bucks for 3 of em, we'd hop the wall at the keggers, and stumble into Del Taco thereafter.

Coors light usually. Keystone light when trying to save $$. I think I could buy 2 12 packs of Keystone light for $5.99 if I'm remembering correctly

Miller Highlife ponies 7oz in the 8 pack was my preference.

Would sneak this stuff from my dad and my buddies dad as well. Was pretty nasty toward the end of the can.

And finally this was our favorite but not sold east of the Rockies in the early 70's. My buddies dad would get LARGE shipments delivered to his clothing store from truckers delivering clothing from LA to Tennessee.

Anything we could get early in high school. My buddy usually could score some Lowenbrau, Primo, or Heiniken from his neighbor. A sixer between us would be more than enough for a night, lol. I usually had my brother buy me Henry Weinhards when he was around, don't even know if they make that anymore. When I was 17 or 18, one of my buddies had a good mustache and looked a lot older, we could get anything we wanted. We drank Mickeys Big Mouth and Elephant Malt Liquor a lot our senior year. Ended up ralphing a few times from that. At the river was always coors or sometimes miller high life. Cases or kegs, we brought both.. The cheap guys brought Busch or Hamm's, LOL.

My first time drinking I found a bottle of Sherry cooking wine at a friends house. Since then Every time I think of wine, I think of that shitty taste.

Highschool use to be what ever we could get our hands on.

20s - bud light / bud ice / platinum

30s - Whiskey / vodka drink

All the cheap shit!!

Actually like the Hamms in a bottle, hate it in the can.. my first apartment was littered in hamms bottle caps. Loved the riddles under the cap. Had a drinking game that as soon as you popped the cap, before you took a drink, you had to solve the riddle. If you couldnt solve it you had to chug the whole beer.

Red dog was good just cause batman was eating out cat woman..

Micky granades was the normal go to.

St. Ides when I only had a few $ and wanted a good buzz.. didnt care for old e..

Back in the day when I was nearing and coming of age, Miller and Schlitz opened huge breweries in Fulton, NY and Baldwinsville NY (about 10 miles apart). Beer was so cheap it was amazing. $1.99 for a six-pack of 12oz bottles pretty much all domestic brands in the area were like that. Imports were $2.39.

The Miller Brewery is closed ('94) and the Schlitz brewery became Budweiser/AB InBev (circa 1985).

There are some really great larger breweries, like FX Matt in Utica, and Genesee in Rochester (though their flagship brand is really bad).

I liked Schlitz, and still do. Drank Strohs, Goebels, Molson (Canadian and Golden Ale), and Labatts Blue.

Ohh and the st. Ides and Old E 40oz most of the time drank with a big slurpee straw.. lol fuck it's a miracle I even remembers those days now that I look back..lol

I can remember the days when we would ask our parents if they could buy us some beer(myself and a few of my closest friends) who's ever house we where at, the parent would call the others parents "does mike have anything he is supposed to do tomorrow? No.. ok.. cause they want beer tonight" once that first beer got opened we where not allowed to go anywhere and our keys where put on top of the fridge!! Always seemed to turn out that who's ever house we where drinking at that night magically needed yard work done EARLY the next morning..lol

Mickey's 22s. Just filled up the truck at Western gas station that used to sell to us in high school. Used to buy them by the case. If I drank 6 like I used to back then probably be hungover.
