I drive my 02 F350 service truck daily for work. Average 600-1300 miles a week and change oil once a month. Bought it as a pickup in 11' with 162K miles. Now has 367K and keeps going. Work pays for fuel and repairs. The other F250 gets maybe 5K miles a year.

Been wanting to get a V-series Caddy for a few years, but need those crazy prices to come down.

You can buy the average three year old CTS-V for 48% of sticker price according to an article I read the other day.

Wow. You're right rrrr, That's some serious depreciation! Been awhile since I looked, but just found couple 2016 models probably close to $100k new, listed in mid $50k range. So do you think greatest rate of depreciation is in first 3 years?

That's what the article said. It has the highest depreciation of any $60K plus three year old car available in the US.

Of course it'll continue to depreciate, but mileage accumulates accordingly.

I finally quit buying new cars. There are thousands of low mileage lease returns flooding the market here in Dallas.

We bought a 2013 Camry SLE V-6 in March with 19K miles for about 37% of new cost. It's a one owner garage kept car, not quite as nice as the TL we traded in, but that car was used up. It was a 2005.

02 Tahoe, but my commute is 950 Miles one way every 2 weeks...
Debs ‘14 Camry 4 banger sits in the drive since she doesn’t drive anymore, but it’s a decent car for running around and road trips.

Our ‘02 C5 Vette got better mileage than the Tahoe and about the same as the Camry.

1997 Saturn. Paid 800$ for it 6 or 7 years ago. I’ve never washed it. I’ve never changed the oil. Has 204k now. When it blows up, I’ll take the plate off, walk home and buy another.

My ex brother-in-law bought a brand new 5 speed Saturn in 2000. He MAYBE had the oil changed every 15K miles, and never did any kind of maintenance or repairs to it. Shit would break or quit working, and that's how he would leave it. Damn thing had over 450K on the clock before it finally gave up the ghost! Damn good cars!

My wife drives a Honda HR-V about 150 miles a day. Great little car. Leased. She gets around 30-35 mpg in traffic. It'll pull down close to 40 out on an open highway.

My prior 2008 Si and current 2015 Si have not gone through rear tires. I rotate every 5K miles so maybe that has been the saving grace.

Did that thing go through rear tires? We had one of those and had that issue.

Camry. Comfortable enough to drive many miles. Large enough where people can ride with me, small enough to be nimble when driving alone.

My commute is 30 miles each way, and having HOV access is a must for me. I have a Prius because it's cheap and gets my HOV lane access, but I will be looking to replace it with something else in the next 6 months or so. I have a deposit on a Tesla Model 3, but am also considering a Fusion Energi since that also gets me HOV lane access.

I just don't get the small car thing. My last 3 cars were 2500 diesels and my next will be the same. I drive a shirt load of miles and I see how bad the small cars crash. I like to have the line of sight over the other cars. My life is more important than saving money.

You'd better do something. That Model 3 isn't going to show up for at least two years, and that's if Tesla figures out how to build 5,000 a week.

In the first quarter they built 721 per week.

2016 Covette Z51.

I am told these things get good mileage on the freeway at freeway speed just not with me behind the wheel.;) Plus my commute averages about 5 mph.o_O I have a 11 mile commute.

I am getting ready to lease a new car. Thinking about either a CTSV, Escalade or Range Rover Sport S/C. Can’t decide.

If I get the CTSV maybe HVH can buyout the lease return?

Have you tried the ECO setting for better gas mileage. :D

My daily driver is a 1988 Mazda MX-6 GT, turbo 5 speed. The car currently has 294,000 miles on it but has always been well maintained, I have always run Mobil 1 synthetic in the engine. I paid $2,000 for this car 12 years ago and it has been my daily almost that whole time. I drive about 100 miles round trip to work. I have 4 other cars and a Dodge Cummins 4x4, all newer, but this car is my favorite.

Agreed. I made about $30k profit after paying for the car on my last commuter. Owned and drove it for 11 years, sold it for the exact amount I put down on it. I average about $600/month these days of tax free income from mileage after fuel, maintenance, and insurance are paid. So in my situation, I don’t want a company car and a gas card.

It depends on the reimbursment/milage program. Most companies the Car Allowance doesn't make sense compared to the Company Car option (for the reasons @highvoltagehands stated). Our Car Allowance program is great, but it is not an option if you drive more than 30,000 miles per year. I drive about 45-50,000 per year... So I have to use the fleet vehicle. 2018 Ford Taurus AWD. It only gets about 20mpg, but it is comfortable to drive and does great in the snow and ice.

I put my deposit down on April 1, 2016. The current delivery estimator for my Model 3 is May-July. Even if it slips a bit, I still expect to get the Model 3 by late summer. I've started seeing them around Phoenix over the last few weeks, so I think that they are starting deliveries in my area. I'm OK with waiting, but I don't know if I can stand the Prius for too much longer :)

Normally my truck is the DD, but it's been in the shop the past week for warranty work before its up.

I normally drive my wife's car once or twice a week, but it's been the DD last week and part of next. The boys dig it when I pick up my daughters from school.

2017 Ford Escape AWD.
27.5 mpg average, over 19000 miles.

No issues so far.
Drove through a few snow storms this winter, and it handles great.

The only thing bad about company cars is, the wife gets to drive the Corvette to work.

Chevy volt. I drive 60 miles round trip a day, plug in at home and work. I use zero gas most weeks, and if I do use any it might be $5 for the month.

Your crazy if you drive that little thing. I would be claustrophobic in it.

I recall pulling up next to the first smart car when they came out in my old F450. I did a double take the occupants both looked at me. I made a hand gesture like if we crash and just shook my head. They both looked like they saw a ghost as the light turned green.

Another member took delivery of one about 3-months ago here in SoCal, but it's the only one I've seen on the road so far.

Also saw a new Ford Ranger with Mexican plates. FUGLY.

How much did you spend on it? That's awesome and they seem like a decent mix of efficiency, and size.

I saw one last week on I-80 south of Reno. First one I’ve seen.
