Aquinas had some colorful football coaches. I remember Jack "The killer" Garfano who was the varsity coach and was on channel 5 wrestling. He was a character.

I coached for Josh Henderson. He is one of my best friends. We grew up together and played at Fohi. I got a chance to meet some really good people there.

Truth.

It was in the only HS in the (then) Redondo Union High School District that was handicap accessible. While at the time, enrollment was declining, the Baby Boomer kids hadn't started having their own kids, yet. Now the schools that took up the Aviation area kids (Redondo, Costa, West) had to expand. They did the same thing with Lawndale, closing it. But at least they had the sense to hang on to it so they could re-open it later, instead of selling out half of the Manhattan Beach and North Redondo kids to TRW like with Aviation.
