Anything be Creedence. As a kid my dad would be playing Neil Diamond and Charlie Rich so those always take me back to a sweet spot. Using a spot light out on Rice rd looking for what I thought were prairie dogs
Depending on the decade going to the river starting in 1961 my favorite river songs kinda change. I think the best might be Deep Purple's "Smoke on the Water". The 70's were an amazing time on the river, everyone has their amazing time on the river, but that decade made a lasting impression, first time I ever saw someone having sex was in '71 in what would later become Sundance. It was a biker bar then, a shithole, and my friend and I took his parents boat out for a run up river, tied up at the dock and walked in like we owned the place. Biker guy was bangin' his girl on the bar, we stood there in awe and then we were promptly lead out by a biker/bouncer who told us to come back when we were 19, which was the drinking age in AZ then. We were 15. Even though that song came out a year later every time I hear it I think of that day.
By the mid '70s there were half a dozen boats on the strip named "Smoke on the Water".
