I wanted a race deck Biesemeyer flat bottom since watching them dominate the race course as a kid. Being competitive 50 years later is pretty cool too. At some point, I'm going to cut it into an open bow, add a Bimini and neon lighting and park it in the channel all day.

When I was shopping for the toon, I was looking for dual console with windshield, and the arch that would drop at the touch of a button to get under 10’ garage header with a merc 400r.

When I found it... I knew more about it then the sales guy did. But the other key selling points all fell in-line. It had a triple axle extreme trailer with “stainless fenders” and nice set of 20’s. The “white cold fusion” 400r was also a nice upgrade! Sold!

Dual console, arch, Merc 400r.

I might miss it a little, but a new one planned for next season.

…Bought some property above Lake Oroville didn’t have a boat…was staring down at the lake every day… Picked up the boat trader (2002) and in it was a 1963 Hallett/Barron with s 406 Ford…Guy brought it up from I think Seaside California… We put it in the Afterbay and it ran fine …leaked like a sieve but no big deal…lot of tinkering… I think I paid 1800 or two grand for it???…Served me well for 18 years until the big fire came down and melted it… fortunately my Sanger runner bottom and my Spectre 24 day cruiser that I had bought later …we’re at my home in North Hollywood and they have survived…

My last boat, Nordic Rage w/ Blown 502 had always wanted a Nordic for the lake. I loved it, great power handled the chop really well, wife hated it cause she couldn't see over the windshield. But my 19' Sprint which had very low freeboard and on the lake would beat the crap out of us, she loved. Women:rolleyes:. Sprint was a beautiful boat tho i miss that one!

The fact that there’s so few of them built. Less than a dozen. The lines to me are just timeless, how it drove in the ocean when I went to go look at it, and then I messed up my directions and dragged it across midtown Manhattan on the way back to Cheeseland. 🤣

We’ve had an Eliminator, a Scarab, a Warlock, a Fountain and others over the last 30 years or so. Always admired the Donzi look and had heard good things about them so we specifically set out to buy a twin we could legally tow with our 1/2 ton Tundra. Turned out to be a 28ZX. It’s been a great boat but am over it now. Although I had seriously considered building some bigger power for it, we’re kind of serial boat buyers and are now getting the itch again.

Wife said to do whatever I want… apparently that doesn’t mean what I thought it did. So now I have an 84 LTV and a Donzi deck boat.

After bad luck in havasu I just wanted a boat that would float. So I went to a dealer in Corona and bought a cheap new boat. It floated quite well. for a chevy the 4.3 was cool.

grew up in a water skiing family, and after seeing the ski shows at Marine World, I was totally sold on a Mastercraft..... the venue at Valejo you could drive to the backside of the lake they used and watch the shows for free. I'd go check it out on days off.

so I saved, worked, saved some more and bought my boat. 1988 Mastercraft Pro Star 19 foot. pretty cool being able to pull up 5 guys on singles at the same time.! we also did 14 people on knee boards at the same time once. that was a PITA for all the ropes... between me and my sister we've probably taught over 100 people how to ski.
