This will cause the remaining oil companies (Chevron, etc.) to relocate to another state.
I think I saw on the news yesterday Chevron is moving a large portion of their office staff to Houston and will just leave a skeleton crew behind in California.

Yep - sounds like it is already in process. Just like Tesla, once the existing tax breaks stop, they will move everything else. Found the below.

Chevron is bringing 200 workers to Houston when it moves its US headquarters to Houston. About 200 Chevron employees will move to Houston as the oil major shifts its global headquarters to a smaller office in California, a company spokesperson said.

Chevron is planning to relocate its global headquarters to a new leased space in California and sell its existing head office in the state. Chevron is expected to shift its headquarters to the new site during the third quarter of 2023.

AAA claims some Cali refineries are down..More than usual.

Some for scheduled maintenance and some not scheduled... He claims usually spring is scheduled maintenance but last spring they postponed due to high costs.... Now it has created this back logged shut down and dramatic increase..

Last week Joe pleaded with the gas stations to lower their prices...lol

But there is light down the tunnel...... November 1st we go to winter blend...
This is California trying to force people to buy electric vehicles.
Pretty good take your plant down prices go up and you make enough to pay for 10 outages.

OK ..

I'm gonna slide down this rabbit hole for just a moment with a "What If"..

gimme a second to adjust my foil hat...

What If big oil and refineries were inflating prices to protest the lefts war on fossil fuels....

What a way to influence our citizens that the current administration has fucked up the economy so badly in an effort to persuade voters to move to the right

The WH defends themselves and blames everybody from Putin to big oil for the outrageous and unprecedented fuel prices...

Political chess game??? At our expense????

Just a thought

Yep we just sold chevron park and leased the building across the street.

All employees regardless of position were offered to be relocated to houston on company dime. Very few accepted. The tea leaves show that as people I San Ramon move on(other jobs, other companies, retirements, etc) those rolls will be replaced out of texas. It's only a matter of time. Well always have some presence there but it will bleed off to nothing.

I no longer get upset at gas prices. I no longer pay attention to them.
No I did not go EV either. Hell my most economical car is a Supercharged V6.

Just started having my kids fill up the cars--have not seen the gas pumps in close to 3 months.
Yes--I pay the CC bills, but half the time I never check the purchases anyway.

Just like the news--if you dont watch, you dont really know. Ignorance is bliss sometimes.
I guess that is one way. Bury your head in the sand and everything is peaches and cream. 🙄🤷

How is Exxon making CA pump prices (the highest State taxed gas in the country) over double the pump price of some other states?
How is Exxon mandating the CA unique fuel blends that cost far more to create than any other State? These rules and mandates have been successful in cleaning up the air in the CA cities according to the members here, so the bottom line is that if you want to live in CA, suck it up and pay the price, or buy an electric car then complain about the grid.
It ain’t Exxon’s fault people choose to live there.
Less than half of all crude is refined into gasoline.

It is called supply and demand. Tax is a small part of the price. https://igentax.com/gas-tax-state-2/
Does Exxon make more money on the fuel blends? In the electricity markets you get pain for everything out of the ordinary.

Seems to me the governments profit margin is much much higher than the oil companies seeing as all they do is collect the tax and re-distribute it. As far as I can see, they have no capital investment. So who is the real villain?

I am SSSOOOOO glad our Escalade is flexfuel. I will take the small reduction in mileage for the $3.60 fuel price for E85.

I'll take a shot at it...

Cause some people don't understand Capitalism and others just like to bitch!

That answer your question? 😜

True! 👍😎
But the question is “how did/ does Exxon cause or create the CA specific mandates, tax rates, and refinement necessities that are the root cause of CA’s obscene gas pump prices?”
They don’t make the CA state rules. They sell product to pretty much every state or refinery at pretty much the same margins.

There's no way CA is double the cost per gallon than say Colorado or Texas. It's insane to believe that's even possible. They are simply being allowed to rape & pillage, getting filthy ass rich, lining politicians pockets in a big way.

The craziest thing is the liberal population are the ones who pay the heaviest price yet they vote for the Newsomes of the world LOL. Us business folks simply pass the cost on to the consumers, and make out better doing so. In a year or two, your typical libbie will not be able to survive without their uncle, uncle Sam that is, and that's when socialism really goes into effect.

You could always get a therapy dog to comfort yourself.🤣 make sure you take it with you when you go to the grocery store and restaurants just in case.😊
Thanks for the suggestion. I’d rather keep shopping for my AR-10 and waiting by the door for the 2k rounds that I bought yesterday. I just hope that I don’t have a boating accident….AGAIN.🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪

I think I’m gonna come over to your side of town and follow the UPS man around and wait for him to deliver. But I’m too fat, old and crippled to be a porch pirate, maybe I can get the UPS man to load it in the back of my pick up. 🤣🤣🤣

Currently 87 octane gas is $3.15 a gallon and 91 octane is $3.75 a gallon in Tucson AZ today. Unfortunately our diesel is around $4.50 which is abnormally high compared to our regular gas but I am sure it has to do with availability or something.

I don't have it as bad as some but I would definitely take 2 dollar a gallon gas and some mean tweets right about now 🤣🤣🤣

And this idiot has been chosen to make a POTUS run in the future.
He has F’d CA and I hope he never wins an election at a federal level.
Scary to think the DIMS in other states will vote for this donkey because he is a D yet they dont really have a clear picture of what he has done to California/Californians and if elected will go on to destroy everything.

I haven't seen this four letter acronym mentioned...

OPEC

<EDIT: In case you don't read the article: The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and its allies are reportedly weighing a reduction of more than 1 million barrels a day and will announce a decision Wednesday.

OPEC is going to F us even more. They already told POTUS to F off. If this cut passes, CA will be $10 a gallon.
And to think we were selling US oil and importing cheaper oil for gas production less then 3 years ago and we’re 100% oil independent.
  • OPEC and non-OPEC producers, a group often referred to as OPEC+, will meet in Vienna, Austria on Wednesday to decide on the next phase of production policy.
  • The oil cartel and its allies are considering an output cut of more than a million barrels per day, according to OPEC+ sources who spoke to Reuters.
  • “The OPEC ministers are not going to come to Austria for the first time in two years to do nothing. So there’s going to be a cut of some historic kind,” said Dan Pickering, CIO of Pickering Energy Partners.

You forget everyone gets the $400 gas check this month (up to 2 cars per household).
Instead of doing a gas tax vacation (republicans wanted this), the CA Dems passed a rebate back to all owners of registered vehicles (400 per car, up to 2 cars per household). And it is for ALL vehicle types, not just gas powered.
I think you need to read the fine print as that “gas credit” will not hit everyone…only people who filed taxes in 2020 and that earned $75,000 or less and couples you earned a combined of $150,000 or less. I’m not sure how you can live/survive in California making $75,000 or less…
