I think he is saying it is his stuff in his driveway and someone came by snapped a few pics and has it posted for sale.
Contact him and act interested from a non discript email or number?
Definelty call letgo.
Make a cash offer and go down there and go see what's what with the dude and ask him why he's selling your boat and wheels
I'll give you a 1000 for it. [emoji106]
Something like this if it will fit your style tongue
Yeah thank! I have it locked down already it's just lame people are the way they are.
You got that right we worked hard for our nice stuff and they just help themselves to it, cut their hands off. My guess is he is just using your boat to scam people who call, hopefully he scams the wrong guy and gets shot.
Did they tell you to report it to IC3?
There's not much you can do, other than message the scammer and tell him you found out about it, and reported it to the police. You discovering the pics was not part of the equation.
Being overwhelmed with cases like this is not the only issue, Felony level theft is now at $950, instead of $300 like it was for years. So, many petty thefts are simply not pursued.
Like mail theft --they value each piece of mail at $1. So usually, they book the mail thief and immediately release them. There was a chick out here who was arrested 3 times in one month for mail theft, and identity theft. Recently, there was two cases charged by the Fed's, but I imagine only because they were part of a larger, organized ring. Many mail thieves steal mail, sort it, and then sell a 6" bundle to another dirtbag in a hotel for $20; who then sells it to the guys who make the fake cards, or they use them.
NextDoor is a great way to easily establish relationships with neighbors, who then can help you look out for each other.
Lastly, another part of the problem is these anonymous app and messaging companies thumb their noses at law enforcement requests. These companies know about half the nation believes asking for a criminal's data is a violation of everybody's privacy. The reality is, complying with LEO requests takes time; it's a cost center. Naive are the sheeple who believe these companies care about subscriber's privacy interests. Profit is their only motive.

why wouldnt the leos want to be a part of this. Set up the meet and have the leos on standby?
hell i bet if you found a couple leos on the street and talked to them they would get involved?
what the fuck is wrong with this country when we have an easy way to get a bad guy off the street so easy?

Wouldn't it fall under conspiracy to commit a crime?me i would move my boat NOW, then call my insurance agent and make sure i am covered.
cops really can't do anything as no crime has been commited ( yet)

I use indoor storage and still lock my tongue.
Nothing will happen your boat I don't think...just scammer preying on people stupider than them...likely just to get phone numbers/email addresses.
Here's one from a while back that contacted me...
