Every board always has that thread... "what's the fastest boat you've ever been in"

So I figured I'd take a twist on this.. What's the slowest "performance" boat you've ever been in or owned?

I rode in a either 17 or 18' bayliner once that topped out at a whopping 35 - 38? One of the scariest rides I've ever been in when that thing started hopping left to right.. (Had more to do with the driver then the boat if I had to guess)

Slowest boat my klan has owned is probably Stacy's new Spectra, I'd bet it's running 50 on a good day.. ;) That'll change down the road though.

I was in a canoe once, that only had paddle power.....it was slow.

The glass bottom boat ride and the shoreboat in Avalon are pretty slow.

My first boat was a 16' Bayliner with an 85 HP Merc triple on the back...it was pretty darn slow. The pitot was broken and GPS didn't exist back then but I'd be surprised if it made it much over 40 mph.... :D

Slowest Lake/River Boat - Current Ride; 1983 Marlin 27' Day Cruiser. I'd have to guess it tops out around 48mph :swear

My 13' Boston Whaler is pretty slow, considering that there's no motor on it! With a new 40hp fourstroke Outboard I'd say it might give a mini Schiada a run for its money :D

I had a Reinell 185 (18 1/2 foot) bowrider. OMC Cobra with a 305 chevy and a 2 bbl carb.

38 mph was about it. Changed the intake, 4 bbl holley, hotter ign. and the top speed increased to .....38 mph.

We bought the boat with 90 hours and sold it with over 700 hrs. So we used the crap out of it. Just had to stay in the slow lane.:p

The boats in the Motorboat Cruise at Disneyland were pretty slow. Flooring the gas pedal seemed to have no effect on the speed.:D

This is probably the slowest (47 foot Moorings Cat), but in the British Virgin Islands, you are not in a hurry to get anywhere......

10 knots under power.......12 to 15 knots under sail (with a good wind)!

The slowest boat i have been on was just two weeks ago. We got invited to go sailing with Devra's clients on their 32' Bennateau. It was a nice rig, but i gotta be honest - I was bored, very bored. The most exciting thing that happened was crashing through a 3 foot wake from a huge cabin cruiser that went past us at about 50 mph. We got the boat up to a 6.5 knots - and boy oh boy were they excited about that blistering speed. I'll post up some pics later. It was so boring, Devra fell asleep to the sway of the boat.

My Dad's old 32 wet snail. 3 Knots average speed. What a fawkin yahner.

I think I could swim faster then that pig. 7 Knots was the best it ever did, and that was in a storm. Cruising Sucks!

We had a 16' Glastron.(Red sparkle james bond boat)

It was a slug with the 85hp motor but when we threw on the 115 Merc in the early eighties she would run in the mid- high 40's:D:lamo

Gotta disagree, the old Submarine ride at Disneyland was slower than the Jungle Cruise; and definitely not as entertaining.

Nice boat for lake Powell huh?

Funny part was getting on plane, all of us had to lean to the front of the boat to get it up
