Underdash or trans hump mounted separate FM tuner.

You could pick up police calls, TV stations Mobil telephones and a few radio stations. Music stations were usually some guy playing his jazz record collection broadcasting from a surplus military radio transceiver in his living room.

My father the miser, had an underdash fm adapter on our 1967 Vista Cruiser. Bought straight out the Warshawsky (sp) monthly magazine.

Seperate deal, but the title threw me back to my uncles from Bassett...lowrider/banger crowd. "5 drop" Motorola record players. Oldies from the Art Leboe days.
