Does building my BIL a relay box for his boat count? I've got a ton of time in it, and I'm not charging him a dime. Just ordered the last few pieces today.

The last time I made someone really happy. I had two big contractor bags of cans that were already crushed and took them to the recycler. Standing in line the homeless guy behind me had a broken down shopping cart with maybe 20 cans that he picked up and a bunch of dirty plastic bottles. Probably about 3 bucks worth total. I turned around and asked him if he wanted mine (about 40-50 bucks worth). He said hell yes so I piled them on his basket and left. That made him really happy.

Feel kinda dirty about this one…

Two days ago at Agua hotel and casino, I spotted a chin diapered older woman anxiously waiting for the elevator by me but keeping her distance.

Elevator doors opened, she ran in, making no attempt to hold the door for me. I caught the door. She gave me the stink eye. I asked her if she’d prefer to ride up by herself. She said yes, and I told her to go ahead. She thanked me, and I stepped back and waited for the next one…

Didn’t cost me anything, but if you’re that worried about getting sick, why go to a casino lol…

I went on a med call yesterday and basically saved a guy's life. I think that made him happy. :)

We got a bunch of snow on New Year's Eve so I plowed my neighbor's driveway and then did our private road out to the main road.

Earlier in the year during Street Vibrations rally, we were hungry and rode over to a Dickeys BBQ for lunch. 4 motorcycle cops were in line behind us. I gave the manager my credit card and told him to charge my card for their lunch. They all thanked me, I showed them my bike and kindly asked them to please remember it for the rest of the weekend.

Your nicer than me, I would have told her the next elevator will be down in a minute, I'm done with this BS.

Not directly from what i recall but the wife and i do Samaritan's purse shoe boxes through our church. We bought supplies for our shoeboxes like they were big enough for Shaq's shoes. We try to show our little girls that we are overly blessed so we can help others who are less fortunate.

Thats my most recent help a brother out memory.

She may have just soiled herself and was saving you the painful memory and herself the embarrassment. 😂

Not usually one to toot my own horn, but I was one of the two chairpersons that put on the Anderson Chrysler- Havasu Classic's 16th annual Car show. With 220 plus cars we cleared over $9,000 which will 100% go to local veterans. Our December food and toy drive was also quite successful.

This kid was holding grandpa’s hand walking through our showroom, and I overheard him asking grandpa if they could sit in a boat. Gramps didn’t think that was such a good idea.

That’s where I intervened and told him and Gramps if they’d take their shoes off they could hop in the MTI on our showroom floor. I don’t know who was happier, the young boy or Gramps!!

Either way, I’ll bet they’ll both remember and talk about it for years to come. It was cool to see smiles on both of their faces. Hopefully it made their day.

Yesterday, I gave the waiter at the restaurant in BFE Oregon a substantial tip on a to-go order on our travels...I overheard his conversation with his co worker about what was going on in his personal life...I thought he was going to cry once he saw it. Karma is something I firmly believe in. I hope he had a much better day today.

Had a guy in Snoqualmie WA get out of his car after putting 2 masks on (KN95 and standard diaper), and latex gloves. Couldn't have been over 55. He kept. standing behind his car while I was doing my card, and starting the pump...he was waiting for me to get done so I wouldn't be close to him. He didn't move until I got back in my truck. I pumped 26 gallons.... I didn't say anything to him, but holy shit some of these people got hooked by Fauci hook line and sinker..its sad in reality.

Every year… I give one rose 🌹 for each year married to my wife. We are at 30 years now. I get them at Ralph’s or Albertsons … they last longer from them… 🤷🏼‍♂️. But they sell them by the dozen.

So I got out to my truck, separate them into two bunches, one is the number of years married, and the other is what’s left over.

I look around the parking lot, and the first woman I see that does not have a guy with her. I go give her the leftover roses. And I explain what I am doing. So far in 30 years, I have had three women break into tears. one was on her way to her daughter who was just diagnosed with cancer, one was her wedding anniversary.. husband had died earlier in the year, and he always gave her roses too. The third one, could not speak, just cried and mouthed the words THANK YOU.

I love doing this.

On a more serious note though, there isn't much I'll do for someone who is begging but seems able to do for themselves.
And there isn't much I won't do for someone who's trying their hardest but simply struggling.

There are people who need the Masks for health reasons other than "Covid". I know a young man who has a Lung issue that he can not under any circumstance take any chance with an infection or breathing in any foreign airborne matter, while still going out and attempting to Live a Life.

He has said many times he has endured comments and looks at his appearance of "Over Reaction". Sometimes all is not what it seems.🤔

I get a call twice or three times a year from our friends at Make a Wish foundation with a child that has very little time to live. All they would like to do is get a inflatable jumper for themselves and jump and play in it. I let them choose any color, any banner, anything they want from our website and deliver it to their home immediately. With two kids of my own, I can only imagine the happiness in that child and the parents seeing their child having such a great time. Unfortunately, I don't get to see the joy, but I know. I know the feeling. We delivered this one to Yami's house in September. She succumbed to her illness in December. She was 12 years old diagnosed with brain cancer.

They wear the uniform and They stand on the wall …. while I sleep at night

bought a lady that looked like she need a hand up, A full tank of fuel. I was filling up my truck 28-32 gallons! Another 10/12 gallons wouldn’t hurt!!

I also give blood as often as possible and recently started giving platelets. My goal is 100 pints of blood in my lifetime.

But I take as much joy in little things. I regularly ask to take back a shopping cart for anyone, but especially the elderly if I am walking into the store or returning my cart. Not a big deal but makes us both smile.

I'm sorry that your friend is going through that, I don't however think this guy was in that category for a lot of reasons.

Neighbors are spending the holidays at their house in the Philippines.
I guess the wife has her Sister & friend house sitting, both from the Philippines.
They must know I fish and gave Me a wave /smile the other day driving by.
So a few days later I went fishing and kept a couple nice calico bass for them and put em on ice.
Got home and knocked on their door and said, "Merry Christmas'. They were stoked.

Stopped off at a bar in Nevada and learned the bartender's ex was a real Ahole, beating up his GF, all kinda issues and she needed to get full custody of her 9 year old daughter.
She didn't have the money for a Atty so I told her I'd take care of it.
Asked a few locals I know, they said her problem was legit, she a fantastic mom her daughter an angel.
Hired her a good lawyer and she got her child back 100% custody.

She has no clue how to get a hold of me. I did it because I could do it.

I grew up poor and in several shit living situations. I was always the kid at the dock or bank watching the boats waving etc. Neighbors with rad toys were my idol's. Anyway I caught a ride or two here and there and I remember those days far more clear and fondly than most. Now I'm still poor LoL:) but I have a knack for finding that little bro/chica like me and say the "hey want a ride?". I have as thread on here somewhere back in the day with pics where I took like 8 kids with me for a birthday party when a neighbor girl's parents were to high to even remember.

I've done two things recently. First was a guy hard up on his luck. He was trying to change the transfer case oil on his older dodge truck. Stripped out the allen plug. He went online to a facebook group I am a member of. As usual, all the keyboard heros started telling him how he messed up and what he should have done. All of them having no clue what to actually do. I get so tired of people beating each other down online just because they can. I private messaged him and told him to bring the truck to my shop and I would get that stripped out plug out for him. He showed up right on time and I got to work on it. The plug was a 3/4" allen pipe plug which he had stripped out and then drilled out to use an extractor. He had an expandable plug sealing things up. None of my extractors were large enough so I carefully made 4 cuts in the plug down to the threads and then walked it out with a hammer and chisel. Checked the fluid, installed a new plug and he was on his way. He offered money but I refused. He was very appreciative. Didn't take me 20 minutes and made his day. The second is about an adopted child at my sons school. Every year at christmas time foster parents can sign up for secret santa gifts for their foster children. We parents get a list of all the kids with a very short description of their age and what they like. My wife had already signed up for a 16 year old girl and purchased a few gifts for her. However, a week before christrmas she sends me a message about this 15 year old boy who nobody had signed up for. His description was "likes classic rock". Thats it. She asks if I can figure something out. I said no problem. I enjoy vintage gear and have a great record store where I get all my vinyl. Grab our son and off we go. I'll preface this by admitting I am an AC/DC junkie and my son is following in my footsteps. The store just so happened to have some rad AC/DC gear so we hooked him up with a belt buckle, poster, limited edition cd of their 'Power Up" album with a led lighted display and a Tshirt all AC/DC of course. We also got him a Led Zeppelin shirt and a poster of Freddie Mercury. I was pretty stoked on what we got him. While we were there, I saw they had "Flick Of The Switch" in vinyl so it left with us also. Bad ass album and very hard to find! Jesus I'm long winded...

I love the way this thread is going - thank you to those that have shared some of the things they are doing to help others.

My hope is that these acts of kindness and generosity inspire others to do something kind or helpful the next time it presents itself in your life.

The recipients of these kind acts will always remember the impact you made on them and be grateful.

And for those that aren’t grateful - know that you have put a chip in the karma jar for your own future use when needed.

Take 'em fishing with you next time, they might actually teach you some different techniques. Some of those folks fish just to survive. Our trip there in November was very humbling.

Next time I go fishing, I'm doing this. I usually have my son and his friend along but there's room for one more. Ironically, we went fishing NYE day and caught a beautiful stringer of rainbow trout. As we pulled up to the ramp naturally the bank fishermen wanted to know what we caught and as my son presented the stringer, I felt a little guilty as I knew they did not fare as well. A few of the young boys with their fathers looked a little sad. We will fix that next time out!

Last summer my neighbors pool filter housing ruptured. Now I don't even know these people cuz they're never around much we just wave at each other . Anyway they rent their place as an air bnb . I heard a loud pop and water gushing. Saw what was going on and went over and shut the pumps off.

I do it all the time. I teach my kids: “it doesn’t cost a dime to give someone a smile”.

Agreed, it's the simplest things sometimes!

I do a lot of management coaching in my work life. One of the things I talk to managers about is the power of praise.

There are 4 parts to a good praise;

1) as soon as possible
2) be as specific as you can
3) tell them how you feel about what they did and the impact it will make
4) encourage the behavior to continue

Everybody likes be looked in the eye and told they are doing a good job with a sense of sincerity that comes from the heart.

To your point - it doesn't cost the company or the manager (or any one of us) a penny to fill their employees with motivation sometimes. Try it on the next waiter doing a good job / your gardener that takes care of your yard etc.

Right?!

New Years eve, the power supply on my kid’s new Christmas present “gaming computer” went poof!

Micro center was open on New Year’s Day, I went and got him a new PSU and the computer fixed.

While in the store, I thanked every single employee who helped me for working on New Year’s Day so my child could play with his computer.

I don’t know these people from Adam and I‘ll probably never meet them again but just the simple act of recognizing their work gave them beaming smiles.

It doesn’t cost a penny to be kind and courteous.

Of course, I’m ready to be an asshole on a moments notice if conditions warrant.

Every year around Xmas I tip a random waiter or waitress 100$. Also gave a bum a beer the other day.
