New to v-drives and am learning my way through the boat as problems arise.

Went to check the timing this weekend and can't locate the timing indicator. Looked on the flywheel and cover but couldn't locate anything. Any other suggestions as to where to look?

Boats a 74 spectra which the po removed the olds and put in a Chevy 454.

Thanks

You can set timing with a vacuum gauge. Google it.

If you have one of the cast AL timing covers the little marks on it aren't worth a chit.
Once you establish TDC you need one of these.
May need to relieve the cover just a tad to install.

Thanks for the suggestions,
I will check the timing chain cover tomorrow when I pick up the ride.
I think it's a chrome aftermarket one if memory serves

Should be on the timing cover or a throuhg and open port in the bell housing over the flex plate.
