Back in the '70s Bob Nordskog ran a diesel in the Parker 9hr for an international record. That's when they found out after all the years of running the race it wasn't as long, miles wise, as advertised. Bob had to have the course surveyed for an official record.

I like this Tarva in the video, not sure I'd want to ski behind if with that exhaust.

I have always thought that diesels could be a really big deal if anyone ever spent the time to figure it out. That is a 12 valve tractor motor, the technology now and capabilities is endless. You could make 400 to 1000 HP and it would live forever assuming nothing weird happened. With the advancements in tooning it could be smoke free. But there would be a bunch of boters go redneck and want to smoke out other boaters lol.
