That was some epic shit! And the downgraded rating was BS......that was a big Mofo

I was 40ish miles east. It woke me up...but Mom screaming to get in the door is what scared me!

I don't miss earthquakes at all.

A buddies dad worked at the Santa Susana Field Lab (Rocketdyne) at the time, they had a richter scale up there and had to watch that while testing the motors so they knew how to read it, he said it was an 8.3.

My mom and dad were 3 miles from the 1971 Sylmar quake, they both said the Northridge quake was way bigger, by a lot. My dad was 12 miles away in Simi in 94 and my mom was 3 miles away in 94.
