Here in the Okanagan, we have extreme hot weathers during summers for ever, but never had the size and numbers of fires we have for a few years now, ongoing. I witnessed a fire across the lake from my deck, that started on a walking path along the lakeshore of Kaleden. Blue sky, no dry lightning. Took four water bombers and three helis fighting it for four hours to put it out. I could see the fire starting at the base of a spruce tree, fire quickly engulfed by fueling wind, spreading towards houses. Some deranged arsonist caught red handed on a major road in Kelowna, carrying a butane torch, setting the grass on fire on the sidewalk. You don't make this shit up, it's happening more and more.
