Safe: 1
Staircase:0

I thought me and my neighbor could coax this down a few flights. But noooo. Bitch busted bullnose on second stair. Luckily he was top side with me. It’s only 250lb but the two of us kind of struggled getting it back up.
It’s only a 400 buck safe from Costco.
Does it stay or can I get it moved downstairs without damage for less than it’s worth?

Did you at least take the door off first?

And assuming it was empty also. LOL

Throw an old mattress in the yard and out the window the safe goes. Load in truck and crack a silver bullet and contemplate why you didn't think of this before you fuk'd up the stairs......

I helped slide one up stairs once with a moving blanket underneath no dolly. They were carpeted stairs though 🤷‍♂️

Interesting.
Might crack the driveway though.

What's cheaper? Driveway or hard wood stair? 🤷‍♂️

That’s basically how it was moved up stairs 10 years ago.
Stairs were carpeted then.

Slid it down on blankets?

Well up on blankets, took 3 of us with the door off. The dangerous part is being on the bottom side when it wants to go you're taking all the weight.

Get the right kind of dolly for the job.

A few months ago while I was working at a house a guy installing a wood stove had an electric dolly that would walk itself up the stairs.
But at 250 lbs 2-3 people should be able to carry it…

i have done the same thing moving safes on stairs with success on both carpet and wood stairs. good heavy moving blanket and slide it. in mind there is less pressure on the bullnose edge of your stairs as well. or go find 2 neighborhood kids who play football and give them each $20 and ask them to carry it down for you.
