It looks nice, maybe he just needs quick cash.

How much is a Vector worth?

It jus looks clean with low hours. I know it's only three pics , jus wondering opinions.

Of course it's no schiada or DCB [emoji12][emoji106][emoji202]

even if stored indoors i would be worried about seals in drive and bellows, gaskets in motor would be suspect also ( dried out and hard )
It s a good looking boat and trailer:thumbsup

Maybe it's had 100 hours of use the last 3 years and 97 it's first 19? Or maybe it's a channel queen type situation. Low run time but in the water a lot.

I'm just saying that just cause it has low hours it doesn't mean it's been sitting on its trailer the whole time.

1988? Alpha drive ? Probably run all day long if you don't get on it but not much room for more HP. And as stated above said drive will need work most likely.

Looks like the trailer was updated with winch and bow stop and that useless bar is gone.

Owner said it was used last month. Looks good from the pictures, has Alpha drive. Don't know why, but looks it like a fun boat. Wish I could have a 2nd.

Looks clean.....

I'm not sure I would call it cheap.

The Alpha drive and the dog house would kill it for me....

Cheap/MilkMoney> Hand in hand;)

Ha ha. Fucker. I was jus thinking a boat for my wife and dog to ride in that I could afford , well hope I could afford.

Seems like a good boat for what it is. [emoji106][emoji202]

Wife said she likes the seats behind the front seats.

Will the alpha drive eventually blow up. ?[emoji202]

Alpha's on our 27 never had a hiccup in 500hrs.

Drive it nice and maintain it. It will be fine. 21 or 23 Rev 4 would work perfect on that.

Everything and anything can eventually break.

Nice shape for it's age at a fair price. $15K seems about right.

The Alpha the transom assy is FUBAR, and it's going to need replaced with Bravo.

I spent about $5K on transom and drive 6 years ago to do the same thing on an '87 Eliminator 20.5 Sport. Figure that into the price and that puts it at $20K and that's what you're thinking for this right?

The hinge pins and swivel mounts were completely gone on the alpha transom assembly and the work level required to change the hinge pins was the same as replacing the whole assembly with Bravo parts. I bought a new Bravo Transom Assy from NuWave Marine on eBay minus the gimble ring. Put the Hill Propellers SS gimble ring on it and spent about $1200 on it in total. I bought the drive leg from a dealer in Florida for $3900. Sold the Alpha drive leg for $500. The 454 alpha drive had hardened gears and other upgraded parts.

Its been great unit for the 8 years I've owned it.

I was jus thinking a good looking boat and didn't seem to high. I didn't look real close. Jus looked like a nice boat is all. Maybe I should of titled the thread different ,

I am jus looking at used boats as the price of new boats , like we all know , are expensive [emoji202]

I have my eye on a few , will know more tomorrow [emoji41][emoji202][emoji106][emoji322][emoji970]

We looked at one at the Long Beach Boat Show in the mid 80's and it was $25k with that set up. My Dad and I drooled over it for a couple of hours and decided not to. Always been a big fan of the brand and the hull. If I were looking for some nostalgia, and the gel was solid, I'd be on it for that price.

Looks Clean and as an '88 it may be a bit over priced but you know the old saying, it is worth what someone is willing to pay for it.... Vectors are GREAT BOATS though that is for sure, I owned two of them and would buy another in a heart beat. PS that 454 and the Alpha are not a good match at all, I am amazed it has lasted almost 200 hours. I would say fair price is 11-12k MAX...what are bravo's going for these days 5K+? and carpet maybe 750-1k just guessing...

In my boat, the transom assy was wasted because of the torque of the 454. You mash the throttle and it literally twisted the hinge pins and swivel pin bushings. I sold the drive for $500 to a guy who has been using it ever since. The drive leg was never the problem, but I figured that if I was going to have to change the hinge/swivel pins I might as well go the whole nut.

If you decide to do this....buy your Mercruiser stuff in Florida. The reason is that the salt water eats stuff up and their overall volume allows them to sell for considerably less than what you will pay in California or Arizona or in my case Western New York. I bought the transom assembly for under $1000 and the Hill gimbal Ring for $500 and the Bravo drive leg for $3900. I couldn't touch the whole assembly locally for under $8000...and that was just for the parts...I did the removal/installation myself. You'll have to add a crank driven seawater pump, because the alpha has the seawater pump in the alpha is in the drive leg on top of the gearcase. Buy the bracket on eBay for $50 and get the Hardin Stainless unit.

It looks like a very clean boat, that has nice colors & a timeless gel, however a rear bench hatch would make it more user friendly. Only 197hrs since '88? Wow... I wonder if this is a one owner boat? MM, were you looking in the 21-22ft range? Open or closed bow? There's a nice Cole 22 open bow on Shockwaves website, however I'm not sure you will like the colors or price, but it looks very clean.

I was jus looking around and seen the ad and the color and condition caught my eye. Seemed like a nice boat is all. I think I would do a 210 Hallett before the vector. [emoji106][emoji202]
