Neighbors 20’ Spectra Jet, been sitting for 3 years

dead batteries

DIY carb rebuilds of unknown quality

dual carbs for no reason

tunnel ram for no reason

oxidized chrome...

Let’s get this bitch running!

At least we got Tito’s....and @rvrrat350 fired up to polish some knobs....

Well know you know why it has dual carbs and a tunnel ram.
Jet Botes have minimum standards of adornment.

Cha, right? There was a time in the 80s where every jet boat in existence was running two double pumper 850s and a tunnel ram.

Most of those would have gone faster with one 750 and a single plane manifold, but you couldn't argue that with someone sporting a mullet. :p

Yup! I had same setup on a boat I owned years ago. Came with it so I ran it like that. Holy hell. One cruise thru the channel and that thing loaded up and fouled plugs every time.

Looked cool though. Lol

Just woke up....had to check the ring cameras to see who brought me home last night 😂

i've had those nights before, nothing worse than waking up in a strange place, missing your wallet, with a sore ass! (I mean you were working a jetbote after all)

It’ll bolt right up!!

Let me go look, just be a minute here.

It came on the Miller years ago on some crate motor. I did drive it one time before I pulled the whole mess out.

Be right back.

Rectangle port. Booo!

I’ve got 3 of them.
one with the single 850
One with 2 ea 660 center squirters
and the one I run with 2 ea 750’s of my own design that I built from scratch.

Just depends on what hull that jet and tunnel ram are in. An 20' Waikiki, not so much, an 19' or 18' gull winger, NO problem!!

Don't you dare let those center squirters go!!! That's a lot of sentiment right there.

Oddly, all my buddies have rectangle port dual and single quad tunnel rams on their shelves. Was kind of looking for a single oval port for my shitbox. Now, debating pulling the old school 496. A buddy has some Merlins and a 502 block...maybe try to get a good, solid 70mph ;)

Never been a fan of a single carb on a tunnel ram...seems like a fuel distribution nightmare.

I ran a pair of 660s on a TR on the 496 on my jet boat...only because the setup cost me $300 while the cheapest used dominator/victor setup was at least double that and I was cheap.

Oh there is nothing right about a single carb tunnel ram. It’s the epitome of nonsense!

My 660’s ran awesome on my Papp ported tunnel ram, but the fuel consumption was a lot. Much more than the HP warranted.
The 750’s are Allstate 4150 plates with Holley race bodies and primary bowls front and rear. I blocked the fuel transfer tube and no idle circuits for the rear bowls, for side hung floats and in line mounting.
It works. HP increased, fuel use went down, I run power valves and it idles at 800 RPM no problem.

This thing actually seem to run really well, crisp throttle response and it idles well. It just drinks gas like a mofo! We see how it does on the water

If it drinks fuel so bad what do the plugs look like?

I would buy the 660’s if the price is right

Lots of guys want them. Rick King has first dibs but I haven’t talked to him in years.
What would be a good price for you?
Bear in mind I have a matching polished TR.

They are legit 4224 carbs.
I have a complete Holley parts bin so can make them 100% functional ready to go with whatever squirters and jets needed.

I have a soft spot for center squirters. Taken home a few Division 7 titles that I never should have won using 660’s and a 850 CS as well on a strip dominator manifold. (383 sb stroker)

You know the Tunnel Rams get such a bad rap from people just pounding too much fuel into the engine, I grew up with a 69 Sanger running a Boss 9 Hemi with a TR, engine idled, we skied all day long no issues, ran 450's on it. I put a TR on my spectra just for the look, I had a specific look in mind and had some 525cm Holleys built for a 496 and it starts awesome, idles etc... My Sanger, single 4 and spins up to 6300 all day long. Two 750 double pumpers takes lot pf engine to move that much fuel and man that plumbing is just hideous....
