Just bought 2. Lowes or HD has them. I installed a Costco one for a customer i think Danby was brand. Worked the same as the LG I bought . Like TPC mentioned go 220 if you have it. Lowes or HD offer the extra 10% off for military discount.

where are you putting it, and how much space.....and how you been, hope all is well:thumbsup

Hey Steve, all is well here. Bring your new moho down and let's hang out.

This is for my daughter who lives with her mother in SD. Probably 120 square feet, no 220 available. Needs to be a vertical unit according to my daughter (I've never been there).......

Been a dog's age since I've seen a vertical.
Search the internet.

They are called slider or casement units.

6000 to 8000 BTU will do it if the ceilings not too tall.

Sears may have them on sale now.
A/C units and lawnmowers go on sale about this time (around the 4th of July) of the year.

Would a portable work? They come in 110v and are pretty easy to rig the condenser exhaust. Then when it cools down easy to remove and store.

Just another option.

Costco has 2 models of the Delonghi, they sit on the floor, on wheels and they have an adapter for vertical windows. 300-500. Best part is the Costco warranty, all appliances are crap these days.

I've got a Penguin Delonghi that I drag around my garage when I need to cool off. Thing works great. As others have said it cost between $300-500ish.

Picked up this 10,000 BTU unit at Lowes yesterday for our master bedroom ($349). It's been on for a few hours and has our master at about 74 degrees... the rest of the house is about 84. Not sure it's gonna get any colder... But, we live pretty close to the beach, so we won't need it too much.

Those portable ones will not nearly cool as much as a window unit. Yes they look ghetto but they work. I set them at 68 at night and 72 during day at the river just got my bill for last month was there 10 days of the 30 $35 electric bill. Fridge is always on and motion lights and bill avg is $15 when not there. Our row had power issues before our new electrician and they did not allow any central ac setups do to power, have not asked myself lately but have not got any new take out central ac's lately to install either so just using window shakers for now.

That is with 3 units running.

Agreed. In my old house I had one of those rolling ones and it sucked. Loud as hell and would barely cool off my small family room. You had to turn it on in the morning to make sure the house was cool later in the day. Replaced it with a 13,000 btu window unit and that thing kicked ass. I added a 10,000 btu window unit in my bedroom and with those two units we froze in that house. And they actually cycled off and on.
