I've rented a 275t AT from Champion. It was $10.5k for a day. The crane itself was probably around $3500 or $4000 on an 8hr minimum. The counterweight trucking on these big cranes and manpower to get them operational for the pick is where the bulk of the money is spent.

Thanks for sharing your photos. I love big iron and working with cranes, it's by far my favorite part of my job! I've thought about finding a job solely doing heavy lift planning and design, but working for a Heavy Civil GC provides a lot more variety that keeps things interesting.

Amazing Company. One of my favorite crane pictures here.......is Liebherr still owned by a brother and sister?

Yes. There are several family members that are all involved. Cranes, earth moving, mining, aircraft landing gear, components, refrigerators etc

I'm young, about 17 years into my trade, but I really miss the sound of a friction rig when the operator would hammer down. These new cranes are so quiet the load is over our head if we get side tracked. Those old conventional cranes were so much fun to work around.

The new stuff is way better though.

LOL, I always think we're the shit when craning some measly 2000 lb units on the roof with 90 & 200 ton cranes. We aint shit. Thanks for sharing.

That's fricking huge! Liebherr makes some amazing stuff. From those giant cranes down to little fridges. The giant trash dozers at the local transfer station are Liebherr. Company is privately owned.
