Hey go easy on ol blue. ;)I grew up behind this Mid 70’s 16 footer w/ 115 Merc And By the time I hit senior year in high school, I had stolen a dozen virginities and all But ripped the rear transom out of her. Luckily my dad worked at Lawrence Livermore Lab, so he took it work and the engineers and shop mechanics went to town reinforcing the transom motor mounts with some super whoop ass aircraft aluminum or some shit. I think my dad paid $6K in mid 70’s and sold it 1990 for $6.5k. Lol.

My dock banger trophy bass boat has the 120 Force (Chrysler). Old school 2 stroke, still pumps about 115 on all four. Keep it oiled don't abuse it, run forever.
your little dock banger is timeless.

horizon jet boats left a lot to be desired, from the 70's
Funny how opinions are. A Horizon was the first boat I rode in as a kid. The family that had it kept it for over 30 years. Loved it! It had a 455 Olds and Berkley squirt. Orange metaflake, one color. The interior layout had only the drivers seat and a complete wraparound bench to "ski couch" Kinda like a booth at a restaurant, but only two sides. You could sit backwards opposite the helm as an observer. It was super comfortable and guided a lot of my interior decisions with later boats.

SunRay. built somewhere in So Cal
I bought a new SunRay in '84. 17 footer with a 140 OMC Stringer. They called it a Cobra. Motor mounts were lagged to the stringers, and they pulled after just two trips. I made a better mount system. The boat still runs. My BIL has it in Havasu. With that noted, they were a total joke. They were built in Anaheim; down the street from Caribbean and Tahiti.

Remember going out in that once. I remember thinking this thing is pretty cool lots of party room. Then we went for a ride, and in a single word description was, this thing is "floppy".

Probably thought you’d never see another “Hydroslide” either w/“Moon-Ray”.:p
Funny how many of the Gen Y & Z kids ask: “what’s that flat cardboard thingy you’re kneeling on?“
